The flats where I live had a planning application in with Ealing council and it became a contentious issue because a handful of f**kwit residents opposed it simply because they didn't want to pay for the much needed work. The Tory councillors (mostly from Ealing Common / Broadway) all opposed the application. In the end it was passed, only just, because the Labour councillors (mostly from Acton and Greenford) looked at the condition of the flats and said "yep, these people do need a new roof, etc". | | | |
