Humes sacked on 11:59 - Nov 26 with 1494 views | Colukev | Thank God. Nothing personal Tony, and i wish you well for the future. You did half the job by assembling our best squad since the glory years of 05/06, however you just seemed to lack the ability to turn into positive results. Now this has to be an outside appointment. If Richard Hall is given the job, i have to question RC's reluctance to learn from this already repeated mistake.

Humes sacked on 13:07 - Nov 26 with 1426 views | gerry_us | Regrettably three months too late. Will be interesting to see how the team react Saturday. New man will have lots to do to restore some sort of momentum that we will need for mid table safety. Luckily,as I said on another thread, there really are some crap teams beneath us...at the moment. Long may they stay there. Survival is the most we can hope for this season now. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Good news. I will attend the Burton match with renewed vigour and hope. Up the U's

Humes sacked on 13:09 - Nov 26 with 1419 views | thrillseeker | Humes sacked but RC has already said an external appointment highly unlikely Richard Hall, John McGreal , Wayne Brown - NO We need an external appointment to root out the problems
Humes sacked on 13:39 - Nov 26 with 1396 views | Leadbelly | I believe the decision to part company with Humes, especially after what he said Tuesday, was inevitable and correct. I remain to be convinced, however, that another internal appointment is in the best interests of first team results. Presumably Mr Cowling believes that continuity is best and the club's preferred system of play, hardly a runaway success under Humes, must be maintained. I do hope this is not a frying pan/fire situation.

Humes sacked on 15:28 - Nov 26 with 1327 views | TheOldOakTree | Interesting to see that Mr C suggests that TH is a ColU legend and we should be erecting a statue of him in his honour. Can I ask that the statue be full height, so that on match days I can park the front wheel of my push bike up his arse crack, then at least his time at Col U won't have been a complete waste of time.

Is this Mr Cowling following the trend of the week and suggesting the fans are responsible for the demise of the Col U legend?

Check out the big brain on Brad! You've got it in one, Mr C doesn't want him to go, he is apparently the right man for the job, but the fans have been nasty to him, so it's for the best.

In a weird way, Mr. Cowling listened to the fans, their displeasure. I truly believed TH would be given till after Boxing Day. A defeat to the Shrimpers would have caused a riot. Applause to the decision, but Humes couldn't play 11 positions on the pitch. Some players need to look themselves in the mirror and step up their game.

Yar, wasn't their year, Bob. ... On an unrelated note, Mr. Cowling ... I'm shocked you took this tactic Before Boxing Day, And number two, Please Go Outside the Club. Please. Thank You. I'm all good for the extra 3-5 quid and 50p - £1 more for a burger. It's not like we're broke living on the streets in Colchester. But a good product would be a welcome change.
