An absolute colossus in the U's defence during my formative years as a lifelong U's supporter. Left us for Norwich, sad loss.
RIP Duncan.

An excellent defender who I remember as the captain of the budgies. Just before my time as a Colchester player.

Very organised and dominant centre half - dependable. Remember him well. Not nice for him to end in such a way.

So So sorry to hear of the big man's passing.

He used to train us when I played for a local football team. Wow! was he fit himself? You bet.

A tough guy in a match, but a real gent off of it. On a Saturday night, he, Ted Philips, and a couple of other U's players would be in The Red Lion. He called me "Slim" (I was then) and he would buy me a pint, but would never take one in return. Naturally I stopped accepting his offer as I became embarrassed.

RIP one of my sporting heroes.

Up the U's.
