Swans TV pricing new season 16:21 - Sep 2 with 2248 viewsPolskijack

The EFL dictate the amount charged for Ifollow or in our case SwansTV Live, so the club have no say in this. The new rates are as follows for video streams:

Season pass £140
Monthly pass £20
Game pass : £7.99

This is a 27% increase for the season pass and 33% for monthly which is scandalous in the present climate.

Also for some crazy reason the Carabou cup game is only "officially available" to UK residents even though no overseas broadcasters are showing the game! As I understand it, the club is trying to get the EFL to relent but I doubt they will do a U turn (unless Boris was in charge😀)

I have been involved with a working party to look at ways of increasing our overseas support and the above will not help with that goal. I must however reiterate that this is an EFL decision and not the club.

Isn’t the streaming for season ticket holders working out at around £14 per game?

Swans tv for us in the UK was £10 per game, why is it cheaper for a non UK fan?

Just my opinion, but WTF do I know anyway?

Season ticket holder - £14 approx
Non season ticket holder - £10
Foreign based swans fan - £7.99

Where’s the sense in that?!

No sense at all. It's even worse if you look at the annual streaming price of £140. If you take out the games that are only shown in "Dark market" countries, it works out at about £4 a game for overseas residents. The £14 figure for UK season ticket holders is scandalous and this doesn't include away games at the weekend for which you will have to pay another tenner!

The discrepancy between the single game pass for UK and overseas people was because it was felt by the EFL that charging 7.99 would discourage UK fans from going to games when this isn't an issue with overseas fans. This of course doesn't apply this season as nobody can go,!

I doubt many season ticket holders will take the streaming option as no matter how much you support the club, it's a rip off. I will renew my sub as I have done since we were relegated, even though I have "other" means of watching. 😀

Clubs clearly would prefer fans to attend matches, so making Streaming too attractive isn't in their interests, for now

Just use a vpn when booking/streaming and save yourself a couple of quid 👍

You might think I've forgotten, but one day, when you least expect it, my time will come.

Individual clubs can offer deals on STs but I don't see any who are (maybe because we could all be allowed back in at sometime during the season).
Are the streaming prices controlled by the EFL and TV companies?
