Week 6 Results
EVERTON 2 LIVERPOOL 2
Liverpool are unbeaten in their past 23 meetings against Everton in all competitions, their longest run against a single opponent in history. A decent 6 got this spot-on, and another 4 had the outcome.
SHEFFIELD UNITED 1 FULHAM 1
First point this season for United but they have failed to win any of their opening five league games to a season for the first time since 2006-07, when they were relegated from the Premier League. Well done to GOSBTS for being the only one to have this spot-on, and just medicine_man got the outcome. 23 predicted a win for United.
MANCHESTER CITY 1 ARSENAL 0
Arsenal are winless in their last 29 Premier League away games against "big six" opponents. Surprisingly nobody got this spot-on, but 21 had the outcome.
BARNSLEY 2 BRISTOL CITY 2
Managerless Barnsley scored a penalty in the 102nd minute to rescue a point against Bristol City and end the Robins' flawless start to the season. Again nobody had this spot-on, and only 2 got the outcome. 21 predicted a win for City with 11 going for a 2-1, and being robbed by that late equaliser, in what was the weeks most predicted score.
WYCOMBE 1 MILLWALL 2
Wycombe scored their first ever goal in the second tier, but Millwall came from behind to claim victory. 3 got this spot-on, and a further 18 had the outcome.
FLEETWOOD 0 LINCOLN 0
Lincoln slipped to third and lost ground on League One leaders Ipswich after being held to a bore draw. Another game with no 3 pointer, though 6 did get the outcome.
IPSWICH 2 ACCRINGTON 0
In-form Gwion Edwards fifth goal of the season kept Ipswich top of League One. A great 8 got this spot-on, and another 17 had the outcome.
CARLISLE 3 COLCHESTER 2
Carlisle get a third league win in a row, as they deservedly beat the under performing U's. Nobody had this spot-on, but 4 did get the outcome.
HARROGATE 1 BARROW 0
In-form Harrogate striker Jack Muldoon struck the only goal of the game as Barrow failed to lift absent boss David Dunn's spirits following his positive Covid-19 test. A great 8 got this spot-on, and a further 11 had the outcome.
SOUTHEND 0 CHELTENHAM 2
Cheltenham surged back to winning ways with a comfortable victory at winless Southend. A great 8 had this spot-on, and another 13 got the outcome.
Even though 4 games failed to produce a 3 pointer, the other 6 games made up for it by achieving 34, and with only 6 members failing to get one, it was overall another decent week. Four members did well to have 3 spot-ons, with the best coming from Sector4 who had the wins for Millwall, Ipswich and Harrogate, and with 3 outcomes, he is the weeks top scorer with a brilliant 12 points. The wins for Ipswich, Harrogate and Cheltenham were the spot-ons for mfb_cufc to give him an excellent 11 points, and concordman to give him a superb 10 points. Finally 10 superb points also for GOSBTS for having the draws at Everton and Sheff Utd with the Ipswich 2-0 spot-on. Six members got 2 spot-ons, the best of which cam from noah4x4, the wins for Harrogate and Cheltenham, and TheHappyGooner, the wins for Millwall and Harrogate, to also give them a superb 10 points. A special mention for RSCOSWORTH who joined the superb 10 point club by having the Millwall 2-1 spot-on and an impressive 7 outcomes.
In the Premier Over the last couple weeks this division has been close with only a few points separating the top three from the bottom three. Well this week it couldn't be any closer at the top, with only the most 3 pointer rule separating the Charity Shield spots. Two more 3 pointers for TheFatGooner the wins for Ipswich and Harrogate, were not quite enough for him to stay top as thrillseeker had the 2-0 wins for Ipswich and Cheltenham spot-on to edge him to the summit. They are joined on 44 points by mfb_cufc, but he has to settle for third. Moving ominously up to fourth is noah4x4, as he bids for a title hat-trick. The biggest move in this division came from Sector4, as his top scoring performance takes him up five places into fifth. Another to benefit from having the wins for Ipswich and Harrogate spot-on was sevebalo, and he stays well in contention in sixth. An impressive 6 outcomes to go with the Everton 2-2 spot-on for Tropical_Us, but he drops a place. At the bottom RSCOSWORTH has moved a lot closer to those above after his decent week.
In Division One For the first time this season ghughes11 fails to get a 3 pointer, but 4 outcomes were enough for him to hold on to the top spot as the pack closed in. Back into the other automatic place is concordman after his decent week. An impressive 6 outcomes to go with the Cheltenham 2-0 spot-on for wessex_exile, but he has to settle for third. Last weeks 4th, 5th and 6th unitedwhites, blueeagle and oxfcolu all score 6 points and remain there this week. An impressive 6 outcomes also for BFG and with the Everton 2-2 spot-on, he moves up another couple of places, and just 2 points from the play-offs. Just behind him is burnsieespana, who was another to get an impressive 6 outcomes this week. The biggest mover in this league is TheHappyGooner as their decent week takes them up four places. At the bottom, after his disastrous start to the season GOSBTS is now showing the sort of form that got him a play-off spot last season, and he finally gets off the bottom for the first time this season.
