Very telling. LW hinted when they extended Wood’s contract, that we may not see him play again. I said then, that’s the end for him at this club. Seems I may be correct for once.

The perfect summing up! I said when we missed the pen that it would be 0-0 or 0-1. They had better chances and the goal showed our defence all at sea again. Something HAS to be done in this area, it’s just not good enough. I don’t blame the lack of effort given it’s a dead rubber (of sorts) but as you say, the same traits were on display.

Exactly this. No playbook moves or strategies. Just keep the ball.

The quickest I've seen Yates move all season, if he had closed defenders down like that throughout the season I would have less to complain about.
Swansea City v Millwall : Match day thread on 17:39 - May 4 with 1120 views | RichardO | Back to more or less playing three at the back again. Over committing against a stuborn defence leading to mistakes as we try and force things, players forward too early, we have got away with it the last couple of games against poorer teams and held Norwich. Two things happen in the second half they pressed us more leading to them getting more possession and we tried to attack more through the middle but with Key and Tymon pressing high out wide it left us vulnerable to the counter attack through our middle. Looked as if our change of tactic worked hence the penalty awarded, Grimes misses it happens and then Millwall capitalise on our usual mistake as we press forward with not enough cover. We have seen it so many times over the last three seasons, Luke Williams obviously has a way he wants to play but you have utilise the players qualities at your disposal, it was great to cross coming in but to what end, so big lumbering centrehalves can have heading practice and as the ball drops down in the middle of the edge of the penalty area we have no-one coming onto it as Grimes is sitting between the back two and the wingers and full backs are crowded on the wings . It was so noticeable today that Key and Ronald were both in the same position on top of each other to receive Cabango's passes, they should by now be getting an understanding together of how to give each other the space they need to attack defenders, if Grimes is pushing on through the middle to change the point of attack we must have either Tymon or Keys holding their ground, especially given the fact our central defenders had the job of defending the highball with the sun in their eyes. Usual frustration on a game that was there to be won but given away by mistakes while leaving ourselves exposed.

In other words,Williams isn’t really that good a coach and hasn’t been as glorious as some would have one believe. Today was painful again. What was that? End the season strongly ! Just F off and take the platitudes somewhere else . New owners would replace both manager and captain. We can but dream . We are stuck with utter shyte ,again. No offence
