Sat 22 March - QPR History Day and Memorabilia Fair 22:50 - Mar 4 with 1422 viewsMartin63

Just over 2 weeks to go to the first QPR History Day and Memorabilia Fair on Saturday 22 March in the Forever Rs bar. Doors open at 10.30am.

Two new books will be launched - Francis Peacock's much awaited book on the Terry Venables era and the club's book on Loftus Road "Our Stadium Our Home".

There will also be mini stadium tours and a Subbuteo tournament so please put the date in your diaries. It's the international break weekend. I am delighted to say that Michael Wale will be joining us to draw the winning raffle tickets. Prizes include signed photos of Stan Bowles, Rodney Marsh and Phil Parkes.

There will be nine memorabilia dealers joining us plus seven book authors with their books, including Rangers fan Mark Adolph and his book "Growing up with Subbuteo". Mark is Peter Adolph's son - the inventor of Subbuteo. Four fans will also be selling programmes, shirts, handbooks, stickers and cards.

Profits from the day will go to Extra Time, the Community Trust's initiative started in 2009 designed to help to get local residents aged over 65 together.

No - it's all included in the £2. It will be a mini tour rather than the full tour that usually costs £7.50.

I have been told that the guide will be the same tour guide that usually gives the full tours.

Went along to this yesterday, a very well organised event - really enjoyed it. The stadium tour was interesting and it was great to see Michael Wale looking so sprightly at the age of 88!
Thumbs up for the organisers.

I thoroughly enjoyed it too and picked up loads of great books and old programmes to last me all summer. David Shields & Stuart Byford’s new publication, Loftus Road Our Stadium,Our Home is a work of art and should be on every R’s fan’s Xmas wish list. The Stadium tour included in the £2 admission fee was the icing on the cake but a quick peep in Marti’s manager’s room fridge & finding it stocked with San Miquel with not a single Estrella in sight came as a shock,it doesn’t even rhyme 😳 Even learned how Subbuteo should be played coz nothing like the rules my mates & me adhered to back in the day 😂 Once again, thanks to the club & everyone involved in organising a great day and really hope it was the first of many..
