Nunez interesting Rovers whilst Alex Bruce set for Burnley switch?

Ramon Nunez has emerged as a target for Doncaster Rovers according to reports in South Yorkshire.

The little Honduran, who netted twice in our League Cup win at the Keepmoat last August is apparently on Dean Saunders shopping-list as Rovers face up to life in League One.

Last Wednesday the former Dallas player was told he didnt feature in Neil Warnock's plans for next season and can go.

Whilst I respect Warnocks decision, I am a Nunez fan. I think he was somewhat unfairly assumed to be Max Gradels successor in waiting following an impressive loan spell a Scunthorpe and six goals during the early part of last season.

What he lacks in physical strength he make up for in pace, a commodity we so chronically lacked last season. I would have given him another season to build up his strength and maybe used him regularly in a Huckerby type subs role to finish off teams as a late sub with his pace.

Another player I was sad to see go and think deserved a bit more of a chance, Alex Bruce, is apparently interesting Burnley despite having their hated rivals Blackburn Rovers on his CV!

I agree, I think Ramon has been treated very tardily indeed for someone who commited his future to us after giving up his international career to have one here. The guy has never been given a proper run of games in a position suitable for him in a team that's not struggling. It's ok to switch positions occaissonally but first let them become established and confident in their own position.
He and Bruce iare as good a backup as we are likely to get, if not in the first team.

I too think Ramon Nunez was shabbily treated by Grayson and latterly by Warnock. Sad to say both seem to prefer Snodgrass. I would have sold Snodgrass for the megabucks fees touted about and replaced him with Nunez playing in the hole behind the main striker. If Snodgrass plays 90 minutes in most of the Championship games in 2012/13 I fear for the team's prospects unless Warnock plays nine other outfield players ready, willing and able to do the marking, running and tackling that will be needed to cover for Snodgrass (like Howson did until he was sold).
