Andy Lonergans departure now looks certain as Leeds to unveil Paddy Kenny at lunchtime on Wednesday.

Andy Lonergan looks set to pack his bags just a year after arriving at Elland Road.

The online version of the Daily Mail have reported that Leeds and QPR have settled on a £400,000 fee for the ex Sheffield United and Bury keeper and Kenny has tweeted about a press- conference at 1 pm tomorrow.

If true, it would end a summer of speculation linking Kenny with a reunion with his old boss Warnock. Lonergan meanwhile would imminently depart and was subject to a failed bid last week from Bolton Wanderers.

Portsmouth striker Luke Varney is likely to be hot on Kenny's heels. The ex Derby and Crewe forward seems happy to wait for Leeds despite interest from other Championship clubs.

Varney spoke of Leeds being "bigger" than other options and Leeds being close enough for him to see his son in Leicester.

Varney began his career at Quorn FC, who now play in the United Counties League.
