Warnock does old pal a favour
Warnock does old pal a favour

Neil Warnock has clearly done his old mate and former Leeds boss Kevin Blackwell a massive favour by sending Dominic Poleon and Zac Thompson to Bury on loan.

Blackwell, who managed Leeds between 2004 and 2006 has recently taken over at Gigg Lane and it appears that all is good nowadays between Warnock and his former Assistant who famously fell out in 2003 when Blackwell quit Bramall Lane to initially take up a coaching role at Leeds before he succeeded Eddie Gray.

Having recently signed Thompson on an improved three-year deal, Warnock has been good to his word and sent him to the League One bottom club on-loan. Poleon's move however was something more of a surprise given his impressive contribution in the win over Forest.

Personally I would have liked to see both youngsters pushing for the first team at Leeds. Thompson was steady enough when played last season and Poleon looks one for the future.

I have heard whispers that Poleon isn't a particularly shy young man and in his latest inane programme ramblings for the Barnsey game, Papa Smurf advocated sending some of our fine Thorp Arch protégées out to do-called lesser clubs to prove the grass isn't greener on the other side.

Both players will stay until November 17th at least. Whilst I am not convinced this is the best thing for either of them, in Warnock We Trust etc
