"We're the best behaved supporters in the land.."
Monday, 21st Jan 2013 19:07

The Leeds v Cardiff clash on February 2nd has reverted to its original kick-off time of 3pm following discussions between the club and the police, one factor apparently is the improved behaviour of both sets of supporters.

The official Leeds United website said earlier today "This change of kick-off time has been made possible due to the reduction in the potential of disorder as a result of the improved behaviour of the minority of fans who have previously acted in an inappropriate manner from both sides."

The Reds' fans however will still have to meet at a pre-match rendezvous point to exchange vouchers for match tickets.

The making of this fixture such a high profile one dates back to our bitterly fought FA Cup 3rd round tie 11 years ago when following a late Ninian Park winner, the Bluebirds of League One as they were then dumped David O'Leary's Premiership leaders out of the competion sparking a riot by home fans.

Since then, it has been a regular fixture on the Calender and has passed off relatively sensibly, so it's a move which shows some overdue common-sense.

To their credit, the club have offered refunds to fans who cannot attend due to the time change.
