Jordi Lopez is a Swansea City player, as the club confirm the signing of the Spanish midfielder on a two year deal.

Flying in the country within the last 48 hours, Lopez undertook a medical with club doctors this morning before signing on the dotted line on a two year deal. The former Real Madrid player had been touted as Paulo Sousa's first signing ever since the Portuguese tactician arrived at the Liberty Stadium.

Alex Bonnot the players agent even issued a come and get me plea on behalf of his client, he said, “That was through Paulo Sousa. They had a very good relationship even though they were there for only a short period.

"They got on very well and they had a good understanding on the football side. For a manager and a player that's very important. When Paulo got the job at Swansea he got in touch with us and said he would like Jordi to come there.

"We were talking to other clubs, but Jordi was always waiting to see what would happen with Paulo.Jordi admires Palo as a manager and Paulo admires Jordi as a player."

During his time at Queens Park Rangers the 28 year old shone, whilst with the London outfit. During his successful career, Lopez has also won the now defunct UEFA cup with the the vastly impressive Seville in 2006.

Starting in the youth ranks at Barcelona, the Granollers born midfielder slowly move his way up the ranks before moving to arch rivals Real Madrid where he made three first team appearances for Los Blancos.

Moves to Seville, Mallorca and Racing Santander on loan followed. The transfer is subject to verification from the football league.
