Leeds lose at Wigan but Cellino wins appeal?
Saturday, 5th Apr 2014 14:39

Leeds slumped to their NINETEENTH defeat of the season but minutes after the final whistle at Wigan's DW stadium rumours were abound that Massimo Cellino has WON his appeal over the Football League's decision not to pass him as a fit and proper person!

Martyn Wagorn's 33rd minute strike won the points for Wigan, but as ever the main talk was to do with matters off the field.

Moments after the final whistle, rumours came that QC Tim Kerr, who delayed his decision on Cellino's appeal over his failed fit-and-proper person's test, had allowed the Italian's appeal.

The verdict should have been announced at 6pm on Friday, however it was delayed. One rumour suggested that the postponement of the verdict was to do with fears that trouble could break-out amongst 4000 Leeds fans who were heading west to Wigan today.

However Mike Farnan who led a rival consortium bid tweeted @FarnanM "congratulations Massimo" minutes after the final whistle.

More to follow.
