Saints Adverts Appear On Portsmouth FC Official Website
Tuesday, 1st Dec 2015 13:50

Whisper it quietly but Saints adverts are appearing on the official Portsmouth FC website, something that will not please the Blue Few.

Christmas is usually a time when those who have ! think of those less fortunate than themselves, therefore it is only natural that Saints supporters should shed a tear of sympathy for Portsmouth fans, after all as Bob Geldof once said.

But say a prayer to pray for the other ones
At Christmas time
It's hard, but when you're having fun
There's a world outside your window
And it's a world of dread and fear
Where the only water flowing is the bitter sting of tears

And the Christmas bells that ring there
Are the clanging chimes of doom
Well tonight thank God it's them instead of you

But it is unusual for the Blue Few to think of us Saints fans in return, therefore the fact that now the Portsmouth Football Club Official Website is now carrying adverts for Saints has got to be something that will rile them into a frenzy usually reserved only for when an ex Saints academy player now plying his trade in League Two visits Fratton Park.

Whether this will result in repercussions with PFC trying to take out advertisements on our web site is yet to be seen, certainly it is an option should there be sufficient funds collected in a whip round at their big Cup tie with the team directly above them in League Two Accrington Stanley on Saturday.

We at Southampton are more beneficent at this time of year and would remind them that if they become members of SFC then they are entitled to £10 off tickets for the game against Watford.

Running a website needs to make money. However distasteful some of them must have felt about accepting the advert it must have been a business decision

I suspect it's one of those pesky tracking Cookies popping that Ad. Do you ever visit the Saints FC website ?

It's because you've been on the Saints website and they've put cookies on your computer or device; you'll get ads for Pompey related items soon if you've been on the Pompey website recently (if they're advertising).

More to the point, with the Saints having arguably the greatest team in decades, why do you need to advertise the tickets?

The same reason all clubs advertise their tickets, its all about brand awareness
