Leeds United: Whites Agree Striker Departure
Monday, 2nd Jan 2017 02:36 by Lucas Monk

Jack McKay has departed Leeds United on a loan basis.

Leeds United's 20 year-old forward Jack McKay has joined Ladbrokes Scottish League One side Airdrieonians on a loan deal until the conclusion of the current season.

McKay, who moved from Doncaster Rovers to Elland Road along with brother Paul back in January 2016, will go straight into Airdrie's squad for their upcoming match against Albion Rovers.

He made a meagre number of four appearances in ten years with Doncaster, and he leaves United on loan having failed to make a single senior appearance for the first team.

The loan presents an opportunity for the youthful forward to garner invaluable experience at first team level with promotion pursuing Airdrie, and one hopes that he will flourish and return to Elland Road a better player.

McKay is the latest addition to the list of young prospects out on loan, with Billy Whitehouse, Alex Purver, and Frank Mulhern all playing their football for non-league sides.
