Saints Fans Needed To Contribute To Oral History Of The Club.

Saints supporters contributions are needed for the oral history section of an upcoming exhibition on the Southampton Football Club in 2018

As many of you may know, a major exhibition about Southampton FC is being staged at the Sea City Museum between late March and October 2018.

As a part of preparations, the museum is looking to hear from supporters as to why they support the Saints and what makes them regularly travel to follow their beloved team.

On 29 October 2017, an oral historian commissioned by the museum, Padmini Broomfield, will be travelling to the Brighton match either to record brief interviews and/or to take contact details from supporters who might want to contribute. (Note: There can be no guarantee that all contributions will be used in whole or in part.)

Just to stress that this is not about the club or the team’s performance on the pitch but what fires you up to follow the Saints.

The club has arranged for Padmini to travel with the Saints Travel Club in the company of the steward on coach 3, Barry Webb. However, please be assured that this is not just about people making their way to Brighton on the Saints Travel Club.

And, don’t forget that we are still seeking unusual Saints memorabilia to display in the exhibition.

So, please look out for Padmini (with Barry) at Brighton [or at St Mary’s] before and after the match, and make contact if you wish.

If you are not able to meet Padmini on the day but would like to do so, please either speak to Barry Webb or e-mail him at

webb.barry@gmail.com.
