Leeds United have made the 21-year-old their fourth signing of the summer transfer window...

Leeds United have today completed the signing of Jack Harrison, who joins the club on a season-long loan from reigning Premier League champions Manchester City.

United head coach Marcelo Bielsa is reputed to have persuaded Pep Guardiola to allow Harrison to move to West Yorkshire.

Harrison, a versatile and diminutive winger, began his professional career with New York City of the Major League Soccer in January 2016, making 55 league appearances, scoring on 14 occasions and assisting on 10.

This stellar form for New York prompted a permanent transfer to Manchester City in January this year, but Harrison was immediately sent out on loan to Middlesbrough for the remainder of the 2017-18 season and he only managed a derisory four appearances during his spell on Teesside as the club failed to return to the Premier League at the first attempt.

He thus arrives at Elland Road with something of a point to prove, but he most certainly possesses the ability to make an impactful contribution to the United cause this season.

Patrick Vieira, his erstwhile manager at New York, said of Harrison: "He’s a good player, technically he’s really good, he understands the game, he can come and link with our No. 9, he can run behind the back four, his football brain is fantastic".

Moreover, although he typically operates on the left flank, Harrison is equally adept at playing on the right, and can also function as an attacking midfielder. He is also renowned in the United States for his pace, dribbling prowess and diligence both on and off the ball.

Harrison becomes United's fourth signing of the summer, and follows Chelsea duo Jamal Blackman and Lewis Baker, as well as former Wolverhampton Wanderers wing-back Barry Douglas, in linking up with Marcelo Bielsa's side ahead of the new season.
