Theres no sign of the new kit on-sale yet, but for just £16 you can bag yourself a garden friend with a suspiciously familiar white-beard!

Whilst most clubs are proudly launching their new kits for the 08/09 season (indeed some wore their new strips on the final day of the 07/08 campaign!), Leeds seem to be lagging behind.

Our three-year association with Admiral has ended and relatively unknown Macron Sports, an Italian manufacturer are our new suppliers.

But the new shirts have yet to hit the shops!

I visited the Macron website (the English section), the "News" page was last updated in June....2005. I had a quick look at the clubs Macron supply and probably the biggest name in Italy is Bologna. In the UK they are the preferred outfitter of sporting apparel to giants such as Rushden and Diamonds, Grays, Hucknall Town, Brechin City and Welsh league stars Airbus UK Ltd.

So the wait goes on to see whether or not the stylish Italian's can transform the images of beer-monsters such as yours truly. Incidentally, the Leeds Gnomes are available from www.leedsunited.com - no self-respecting garden pond should be without one!
