Where are all the fans? 13:25 - Sep 14 with 4090 views | jacksinceever | Where are all the people who have complained that they can't buy tickets in a family group or with mates now. We are third in PL could go back to second next Saturday, playing a side who just tore Newcastle apart, so it should be a brilliant game. Yet there have been loads of tickets available in the North Stand to allcomers for at least a week

Where are all the fans? on 20:16 - Sep 14 by Neath_Jack | Aye, even Neath RFC have boards advertising their games about the place. |
There's also a massive big screen in the city centre, how hard would it be to put up an advert on a Friday afternoon / Saturday morning to say that tickets are still available? this may only rope in 1 or 2, but these could get hooked or bring their mates. a lot of the pubs in wind street also have tvs advertising drinks offers or local businesses, a couple of revellers on a Friday night could be tempted if they saw an advert saying tickets for the game the next day could still be bought. the marketing / ticket office could do hell of a lot more in this field.

Where are all the fans? on 20:39 - Sep 14 with 1060 views | VetchitBack | I used to be against the expansion as I like a full-house but there is real substance to the points raised about supporters getting out of the habit of trying. Obviously if there is tickets available for most games these habits may change along with untold first-timers.

Where are all the fans? on 20:54 - Sep 14 with 1035 views | airedale | Reading this, I'm surprised that Soton have only taken up 100 seats for Saturday, and couple that with our ineffective marketing department, its going to be really strange to see 1000 empty seats in the North end next Saturday!

Southampton will easy sell their allocation. Probably 2k if they had them

Where are all the fans? on 19:43 - Sep 14 by Starsky | To the OP. You're loving it aren't you? Practically crowing about it. Yes you were right all along. Let's cancel the expansion. Happy now? Chuffed for you. Note to casual reader. We haven't sold out a week before the game so we don't need to expand. Although, every home league game has been virtually sold out since we got to the premier league. |
What's to crow about? The club I love and would love to see grow losing income. I'd love to see the expansion built, whether it's full or not. My point is - as was in the first time around when Swans were in the top tier - that for whatever reason (a mixture of apathy, poor marketing, fans fed up of trying, poor access to the ticket office by phone) we have a small but not insignificant number of tickets still unsold. One of the excuses often used was that it was hard for families or friends to buy a batch of tickets together. They are available for this game yet still not sold out. Where in the OP did I mention we don't need to expand? Just would like to see a team and manager who have made a brilliant start play to yet another "full" house on Saturday. Maybe then in five or ten years time we will be challenging for the PL title Don't know why you are on the attack about a perfectly reasonable post with no agenda?

My main observation was just that I was surprised that those tickets hadn't been snapped up. If people need to be told there are tickets available then let them know. The club could be more pro-active and make sure every seat has a butt on it!!!

Exactly, crap marketing. A bit of effort from them and we could sell thousands more each home game. I know that its been said that our main source of income is TV money but that's a load of old donkey, the real money is the punter in the ground. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

They are surely resting on their laurels again ? The build it and they will come attitude is dreadful at the liberty these days. So much more could and should be done. I'm down at the reserve game tonight but the hassle I have had and extra expense to get tickets for me and my lad has been a joke. I also think the staff there should maybe think about why they are there, the pathway which made sure they have jobs today and think a little bit more and be thankful towards the people who saved the club directly or indirectly which has made sure they have jobs today.

Where are all the fans? on 11:16 - Sep 15 with 751 views | AnotherJohn | I'm a strong supporter of expansion, and agree with the idea that people don't try as hard when they have found themselves unable to get tickets in the past. Having said that, it seems easier to obtain tickets this season. I was surprised when I went down for U21 and Everton tickets today that I also managed to buy a pair of Arsenal tickets on GS. The only match I haven't been able to get two seats together so far is Newcastle.

Think that's a combination of tickets being on sale earlier and not being advertised particularly well. They'll sell out soon enough.

They have only asked for 1,000, which is odd, and the stadium seat plan shows limited seats available for Swans fans. It will sell out in any event as we know.
