around the time of declaration they might have been contenders. Still no sure about Mike touring solo with a drum machine constitutes the Alarm. Great songs though in their original format.
there have been a few decent Welsh bands over the years and I wouldn't put the stereophonics or the manics or catatonia anywhere near as good as early Alarm but then there is no accounting for taste.

For those more into the Prog end of the musical spectrum, the original Karnataka were all from the Swansea/Llanelli area between late 90s into mid 00s when they split up. Since then they have reformed with several different lineups but only with one Welsh member with the others currently being from England, Italy, France & Turkey so they can hardly be classed as a Welsh band now. Of all the bands to have come out of Wales, they have been by far my favourite so much so that I still use their name as my own moniker on this forum so if you've ever wondered where the name came from, now you know.
