Hernández on 07:30 - Jun 19 with 4486 views | AnotherJohn | When the Spanish exodus started Pablo was the one I would have liked to keep, and there were times last season (like January) when he would have come in very handy. He left us for Al-Arabi SC in Qatar. Although he scored a few goals for them things don't seem to have worked out and he moved to the Dubai club Al Nasr in loan. Pablo is now 30 so I think the time when he could have helped us is past. He was rather injury prone, but on his day was perhaps our most creative midfielder. [Post edited 19 Jun 2015 7:39]

Hernández on 07:32 - Jun 19 with 4481 views | orion3016 | His repeated injuries were so frustrating. He'd get take a couple of games to get sharp then would look really good for another couple and get injured again. That was the trend throughout his time with us

Hernández on 08:56 - Jun 19 with 4330 views | karnataka | Was frequently a fantastic player for us but maybe not frequently enough due to injuries. Unpredictable, which always made him a potential nightmare for opponents but not everything came off every time and he always made me very nervous when he was in our half as every time he was on the team sheet you knew he'd probably be responsible for the best pass of the match as well as the worst pass of the match.
Hernández on 09:10 - Jun 19 with 4295 views | Tom1912 | He was a bizarre player. He could thread a pass in the final third that no one else in the stadium could even see. Yet as soon as he was in other half, he'd play suicidal back passes.
Hernández on 09:23 - Jun 19 with 4266 views | Uxbridge | Not injured half as much as some people make out, unappreciated by half the fans, especially the one I sit next to. I liked the kid.

I've said it before and I'll say it again - that was pure football porn.
Hernández on 10:48 - Jun 19 with 4130 views | Darran | He made 57 appearances for us and turned up in about 10. Acoording to wiki he's made 25 appearances since he left us. Of course like Uxbridge says above he wasn't injured much it's just that the rest of us imagined it.

57 appearances in 2 seasons. Rather proved my point on the injury front eh.

How many of those missed was he available and not selected?

Agree. A popular mis conception about Pablo is his injury record, though it is typical of some on Planet Swans to not let the facts get in the way of their viewpoint. I'd consider somebody who is injury prone to play around 10/15 games or less in a season pablo played 30 and 27 while here. I also agree with most of the comments above regarding him as a player, he went from the sublime to the ridiculous within a game but had world class vision when on his game, Laudrup playing the 3 players together (routs, dyer and pablo) gave us some of our best football, Monk was also smart enough to see Pablo in the 10 position and when played there seemed to be fantastic for us. In fairness to both him and chico they both produced some of their best football under monk at a time when it really mattered so i can't fault them for being professional until the end. Pablo was a classy player and even though he did get injuries it wasn't half as bad as people tend to make out, the biggest thing was the 2/3 games he needed to get back into the swing of things,as mentioned by another poster. I think we noticed hi s time off from playing more because we all knew what we missed when he didn't play, not saying he was awesome every game but we all knew he could change a game with one pass. I wish him well , played his part here and never let himself or the team down. Just for the record.. Nathen Dyer 2013/14 apps 27 Pablo 2013/14 apps 27 Dyer 2012/13 apps 37 Pablo 2012/13 apps 30 Not a huge difference to a comparable player .

I loved having both Chico and Pablo here, but wasn't surprised or that disappointed when they left. Both played their part in a fantastic season.

Certainly could. I wouldn't say he was the worst player I've seen at the Lib at times, but he wasn't far off and that includes the L1 days. But then he'd have a spell of 2 or 3 games when he was pure class. He suffered (as did everyone) in that last season under ML. When GM came in we started to see some real class at the end of that season.

Be careful now or you'll upset the fan boys,he had games where he was sublime but he had more games where he quite simply wasn't.

This thread is like a litmus test of the posters on this yur site isn't it? Darren hasn't let me down. It's a shame we don't have such a player in the squad this season. I'm hoping someone steps in that regard.
