Adam Johnson on 20:25 - Feb 16 by Jackfath | Unfortunately if she is 15 it is illegal. I'm assuming here you understand that. If she went into school and told a teacher (or indeed if one of her friends told the teacher) the teacher has a professional and moral obligation to inform the school's child protection officer (every school has one). From there the officer would p[hone the county officer and from there social services would be in touch. |
What are you going on about? Where have I said she is having underage sexual relationships or that I would be happy supporting it? Once we establish this then you may have some meaning behind your posts, at the moment they do not fit in with what has been discussed.

Well if she went into school and said we are going on holidays for half term and my dad says I can have sexual intercourse over there if I want to because it's legal there'd be consequences.

This thread has some very sinister overtones to it. So, Jacandme a question. Do you think that sex at the age of 8 or 10 with a much older man is right or wrong? There are countries that allow arranged marriages at this age and turn a blind eye to anything that goes on between married couples. So in your world, I have to assume that both you and that waste of space Skippyjack think it's acceptable. Both of you need serious, serious therapy and quickly. How the fuk you can even think you're a half tidy parent to your 15yr old is beyond me.

That wouldn't be the case though would it as that is not what I said. If we are in a country where the legal age of consent is 15 and not 16 and my 15 year old daughter had legal consentual sex, then I would be supportive of her decision, not happy, but supportive. She is an intelligent young wiman capable of far more than decising if she wants sex or not. So no, I wouldnt inform her that "we are going to a country where the law is 12 months younger so go for it" or whatever other nonsensical twisting of words and scenarios you wish to oartake in to make your point look less feeble. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

In your opinion, thats fine. Some maybe are chikdren i agree. Some 16 year olds are children too. But many aren't. Adult and child isn't decided by age, its maturity.

I would be happy if my country had 15/16 as the legal consent age, as I feel those are the ages where most decide they wish to develop sexual relationships. I am happy with our standard at 16, but am wise enough to know many 15 year olds are no different to the legal 16 year olds and can be just as physically and mentally mature. However the kaw is there to protect those that are not.

The UN Convention on the Rights of the Child defines a child as everyone under 18 unless, "under the law applicable to the child, majority is attained earlier" (Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights, 1989). The UK has ratified this convention. Taken from the NSPCC website. So in the eyes of the law your 15 year old daughter is a child, and the fact you'd support her having sex with a 30 year old man is sickening

By that stance a 17 year old having sex is also "sickening". Where as I would be happy to assume most people have done by 18. I have said I would support my daughter if ahe decides to have "legal" sexual relations. Why you keep wanting to twost that I am not so sure.

Given the law can't spend time talking at length to each one, it has to be decided on age. 15 is illegal. You were specifically asked (after you said your child was 15) whether you'd find it acceptable if she had a relationship with a man of 26 and you said yes. It's illegal at that age in this country. You attempted to say it was legal throughout a lot of Europe, and there could only be a few months in it but that couldn't be less relevant. As it happens, I personally find a relationship between a person of 60 and a person of 25 utterly repulsive, but that's just me. It's not sexism either, a few years ago I was shopping in Bond Street in Gucci (window shopping it must be said...) and a very famous female music star was in there with a boyfriend of at least 30 years younger than her. She spent her time telling him ' try it on I'll buy you anything you want'. Absolutely pathetic it was, and I was actually quite disappointed as I'd always previously liked her. So it works all ways and is sad and repulsive every which way.
Adam Johnson on 20:47 - Feb 16 with 1511 views | SwansNZ | My daughter is 16 and legally entitled to have sex, but if she was having sex with a 26 year old man, or even older, the last thing I would be is bloody supportive.

i posted that to define what a child was, i'm not twisting anything, it may be legal in other countries but it is morally wrong for a young child to have sex with a grown adult
