Depends what you want to believe tbh, you can find some pretty unflattering stories if you want to look for them about Branson, Sugar, and well, just about anyone. Take Abramovich at Chelsea, it's well known journalists have been warned off digging into his history.
Think there are question marks over just about all the super rich from the former soviet empire, China's money is all owned by their Communist Party members, and the Middle East are just a bunch of squabbling families, that use their countries wealth, as their own piggy bank.

Spot on. Corruption in this country is as rampant as in any other. I like this quote from NYT:
“Federal and state authorities have chosen not to indict HSBC, the London-based bank, on charges of vast and prolonged money laundering, for fear that criminal prosecution would topple the bank and, in the process, endanger the financial system.”

There are 2 or 3 threads at the moment discussing the same theme - Would VB be an accptable future owner?
Spud probably isn't too far away in the assumption that VB's done a few dirties to get where he is. Most seem to accept this as the world is what it is and we can't change it.
There's a more sinister side though with 'El Chapo' suggestions. That could cross tolerable boundaries if anything ever came out.
It's already been mentioned on here, and goes in VB's favour, that he's always been 'clean' in his dealings with the club. | |
