Likely line up against Gillingham? 09:54 - Jan 23 with 4222 viewsdickythorpe

Could we see some of the under 23's make the squad?
I'm all for respecting the cup but I think I we need to see more " on the field minutes" from several.
I'd start with Baker-Richardson and if he's only on one leg play Bony so we've got some time from him before he hopefully jets off to far flung countries with more money than sense.

I'd rather see our strongest side out Tuesday and the following Saturday. Bit of rotation for this one.

Me to, strongest side, let's wipe them away, if we are running the show and got a few goals then yes put some youngies on

Would have said strongest squad a week ago - but with no sign at all of any recruits coming in, we need to protect the main squad.
Especially CB - bring Harries in
Wing - McKay OR Asoro alongside Dyer or Jeff

Can see improved Leroy getting a breather o - Carroll in maybe?

I want to see the weakest possible line-up that still guarantees the win, surely not too much to ask for. We should have given some of them a few days off somewhere warmer to get ready for a tough sequence of games coming up.

Poll: Who should be our next manager? Please name them.

We don't need to rest anyone unless we have some niggly injuries. Need our best team out and kill the tie off without risk of a replay or defeat.

Guarantee the win???

No guarantees in this game as we all know.

I hope the Gillingham side stay off this site as they’ll be strengthened by the fact we’ve written them off already.

Don’t forget, they beat a PL side (of sorts) in the 3rd round. They need to be treated with respect. Cup games are notorious for upsetting the odds.

If we put this team out we will lose.

Swansea Indepenent Poster Of The Year 2021. Dr P / Mart66 / Roathie / Parlay / E20/ Duffle was 2nd, but he is deluded and thinks in his little twisted brain that he won. Poor sod. We let him win this year, as he has cried for a whole year. His 14 usernames, bless his cotton socks.

I’d personally rest Dyer, Routs, Oli.

Play Asoro, DJ and Bony (if fit). Also give young Garrick a look on the bench and hopefully get him some minutes.

I’d go fully strength with the back four, not sure if Harries is ready.

He was playing in League One two seasons ago, so if he's not ready now...

Not sure about him personally. Potter hasn’t covered himself in glory the way he’s treated him, but from the u23 game the other night and highlights of a few more, I thought the other boy Cooper looked the better player.

Is CCV eligible to play? Rodon out injured and VDH has has had a few niggles recently. I'd say Harries has to play

I think his head has dropped a bit. There's a definite downturn from last season when he was captain playing every week in a very strong side. Going on the tour in preseason and then being almost but not really in the first team for the first month or so, the levels aren't quite there now he's back down where he started, getting irregular games with all the rotation.

Looked the better of the pair against Palace in the cup and for Wales u21s. And the passing range he has isn't something matched by the 4 or 5 other centrebacks coming up behind him (part of the u23s issues are caused by trying to play out from the back without a ball-player like Cian or Joe available).

If he doesn't establish himself soon he may well be surplus to requirements in the summer, and want to move on for his own good in any case.

Gillingham aren't as good as Villa.

There was a week between the Villa game and the next league match.

Most have been extremely negative about our chances all season. Next two league games are against direct rivals in the "competing for the playoffs" places. Lots to still play for.

Agreed, but if things go south against Gillingham, the usual vultures will be on here blaming one person.

He should go strong and keep the run going.
