He's captain of his country Ghana, yet he's only vice captain of the Swans behind the inspirational leader that is Matt Grimes.

(No subject) on 22:29 - Dec 15 with 615 views | jackrabbit | The complaint i hear most is that ‘he doesn’t fit the way we play’. Which way is that exactly? Is it the way where we pass it sideways or backwards until the opposition pressure us into making a bad pass and giving the ball away? Doesn’t take long these days. Or alternatively the pressure causes us to pass back to the goalkeeper who promptly hoofs it up the field - same result, lost possession. Ayew is probably the only player we’ve got who has the confidence on the ball to try to run past an opposition player, and not just immediately look for somebody to offload it to. It doesn’t always work but at least he tries to do something different and mix it up a bit. I don’t think he’s always been deployed properly - to me he’s a number 10 supporting the striker. But to my mind, he’s head and shoulders the best player we’ve got, and although i would understand why we’d probably lose him in the next window, I’d be sad to see him go. He’d be sorely missed.
