What about the staffing? I had a minor operation last year at Ystrad Mynach and they told me that the hospital had never been properly operational because it couldn't be staffed. |  |

I heard that in the case of a major outbreak where demand for ventilators far exceeds demands then under 50's with no health problems will be guaranteed a ventilator; over 50's will have to meet strict criteria.
I was recently admitted to hospital and was asked

weight
smoker or ever smoked
underlying health condition
how much i drink
dependents
So over 55 fat, drunk, unemployed smokers are screwed.
Maybe these field hospitals are to cater for those that don't meet the criteria.

Staff off sick in the NHS England has now dropped. More are in work than were a week or so ago.

It is accurate, it reflects what a couple of us were highlighting last week but the caveat is that the majority tested are NHS staff and that they are the ones who have presented with symptoms. |  |

This could be far from over.
The emails being sent out by certain councils to teachers from advice given by the govermant is that they expect a second wave some time between Oct-Jan.
Education during this period will be secondary to well being of pupils and staff, support to those who have family or friends seriously ill or bereavement are paramount.
I hope they are wrong and are just working from the worst case scenario but there seems to be a belief that it could get worse. |  |
