interesting statement issued this morning on 21:58 - Apr 3 by GVJack | I'm not sure. It's a club statement but signed off as Brett and Jason, so with a statement like .... "With that in mind, we will personally be purchasing 500 tickets for all remaining home games" I suspect it may be the latter. Nice gesture sure, and maybe a clever way of getting more money into the club legitimately to meet P&S. |
This had also crossed my mind, 500 tickets @ £20 = £10k on the balance sheet

You can’t buy up tickets as a club owner to get round P&S 👍 A bit of fraud. Which is the true use of the word.

Whoever these people are, we won’t drop our standard of posting. Elsewhere there’s a proper defamation case forming. Not saying you are doing so at all. I know you don’t stoop to those standards. Whether Cardiff fans find it funny or not, I’m certain they can’t say too much. They’ve had convicted criminals pushing an agenda for years. That’s not defamation it’s the truth.

Not sure what you are on about. Widell is a decent signing and very well sourced whoever did it.

Yes I re read it and you ard probably correct. It looks like a gift from the directors with the money going to the club coffers. It is a too small to affect FFP concerns significantly. I cannot see how it is fraud. It like Tim Martin buying a round at Wetherspoons..

It would be classed as such dependent on the context of how they declare it. They aren’t stupid so I guess it’s a clever move.

interesting statement issued this morning on 17:22 - Apr 3 by Dr_Winston | Russell Martin's first year saw us drop from playoff finalists to fifteenth despite having a team containing the likes of Cabango, Downes, Wolf, Piroe, Ntcham, Manning and Paterson. That's not really a highlight. |
Why is there still such an obsession with Russell Martin? Truly awful manager. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Morning Pen Allow me, many reasons really , possibly because some ,like me , believed him the worst coach we have had in living memory Worst in the way he caused such disaffection between fans, eroded talent on the pitch and made us the most boring team to watch One who created nothing One who oversaw a rapid exit from many fans sickened by him The damage is still there , it's why gates have tumbled Folk hate false dawns and kids having dreams destroyed His pupil pretty much carried on his work Sheehan has handled players much better and deserves support

Because we beat Cardiff. That's really all that matters to a disturbingly large number of people. Many of them would have him back tomorrow because of it, despite him being pretty hopeless in every other aspect of football management.
| Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back. |

I totally agree. I struggle to understand what the pro-Martin supporters saw/see in him. I can't speak for you, but the apathy I feel these days stems directly from his time at the club.

I get where you're coming from. Some of the stuff I've seen from other supporters over the last five or six years has made me question whether I want to continue being associated with a lot of them. Covid was probably the big factor for me. Getting out of the habit of going to games every other week made me realise that football wasn't the be all and end all of things. I'd never dream of missing games to go away for a weekend or anything like that. This season I've done it several times. The generally tedious nature of the football we've played since Cooper's first season is probably the second biggest. I could respect Cooper's ability despite being less than enthusiastic about his product. Martin managed to be both mostly dull and inept. Williams the same.

You don’t recall Tony Petty and the Cradely Heath youth team manager ? There’s loads worse than him. BTW he’s not here anymore.

interesting statement issued this morning on 13:44 - Apr 5 with 305 views | herbie | I don’t see why not. It is not a gift to the club but to supporters. Why would it be different to a director buying 20 tickets and giving them to his friends? I can’t see it would be a breach of the Rules although I haven’t managed to see a copy of them yet.
