Another recommendation for what it's worth
The Zone of Interest (2023) - German language film with subs from Jonathan Glazer. Won loads of international awards. Wanted to see it since it came out, missed it in the cinema and now it's on C4 Player. It follows the family life of Rudolf Hoss the commandant of Aushwitz in 1943. It's slow paced but deals with the banality of evil and it's what you don't see but sense and hear that's key, and increasingly so as the film goes on. Enough spoilers but deffo worth a watch. Spielberg praised it as the best Holocaust film after Schindler's List. | |
