You stated: 'the board were never going to sack Stockdale at the end of last season'. I am challenging this. They had every right to, and should have done. Last season was bad enough. It was clear he was a manager who could not change a game. He stuck with the same formation every week.
Unfortunately, we not only stuck with him, we backed him during the summer, and now are left in a terrible mess.
Pick the bones out of that, if you are capable of doing.... |

I second this. To back Stockdale as much as we did during the summer was crazy, and then to sack him after just four games. We have brought this on ourselves. |

They are just bad players. Stockdale's recruitment is what has cost him. I don't doubt he is a decent coach. |

Scunthorpe picked up 26 points last season. I am struggling to see where 26 points will come from this season for us. |

I've just never known previous boards to be so happy to sign off two-year deals. Obviously, excluding the previous fraudsters.
One thing I will say, Stockade was backed like no other manager in history. He had no excuses. Sadly, we are now left with the wreckage he has created. |

Whoever takes over the manager's job from here has a tough job on their hands. The board need to have a long hard look at themselves. I have never known the club to sanction as many two-year deals as we did during the summer. The players we are stuck with now for the next two years are not good enough.
It feel as though the board's inexperience has shown over the last couple of years. I hope they get the next appointment right, otherwise we are in big trouble. |
