Whether a shed load of players are being recruited or not, and I doubt it very much for obvious reasons, Reed, Krueger and Rogers have all shown woeful leadership qualities. Of that there is no doubt, and they will never be able to retrieve those failings again. Whatever you think of Cortese he left it in no doubt who was leading the club and in what direction he was taking us. The togetherness and positive outlook both in the changing room and in the stands was proof of that. Look at players (can't get away quick enough) and supporters (pessimism galore) now and spot the difference. There is, I'm afraid nothing to wait for, because it will not happen with this bunch.
And Nick is wrong in one important aspect: It is no longer about things which may happen. They already have. |

Since both Lovren and Chambers are now foregone conclusions it is more than time to start asking some really serious questions about what is going on. I believe that it is unprecedented for any English PL club to sell 5-7 of it's best players unless to stave off bankruptcy. Why should we believe that quality players want to come here when they all are desperate to leave? Little doubt that Morgan and JRod will follow through the exit door. As a PR exercise it could win a price for the greatest shambles of the year. I find it difficult to believe that this is a mere coincident. There is purpose behind this, but what is it unless there is a sale of the club in the offing? Odd way of going about that as well. |
