Scarred for life. It'll be a long time before you catch me at it again.

My heart's in my mouth for PH tbh.

Prediction - Who gets injured on Saturday
at 20:05 27 Feb 2026

Edwards fractured cheek bone in the first half.

Mbengue must be due an injury? Something chaotic, going head first over the advertising boarding or something.

Obviously Kone too, that's a given.

"Ilias Chair is still unavailable and Rangers are unsure when he might return"

Is this just weird wording and we're reading too much in to it? I think Dave sometimes reads on here, would love to know!

If this were wording on the club website you'd have to say there was definitely something fishy going on.

Should we recall Celar, Field, or Lloyd?
at 19:27 27 Feb 2026

With Madsen his technical ability was there to see even when his overall performances were shocking and he didn't look like ever adapting to the pace and physicality of the league.

With Celar I'm still not sure whether he's any good or not (no evidence of it from his loan spell), but the bigger issue was always he clearly wasn't the type of striker would fit into the team, regardless of ability or the lack of it. A bad signing that throws up questions about how players were being identified at that point .

Of course you could make the same argument about Madsen on the basis of his first season (who thought a player that couldn't play under physical pressure would cut it?) and that we've actually just been very lucky that he in fact has adapted this season in a way that no one could have predicted

I like the sound of that second one, I'm gonna check it out

I've seen that Send Help advertised and thought it looked pretty generic, but then also heard that it's goes hard and was in fact quite Raimi-y!

Also watched Black Cab recently. Went in not expecting too much from it - and that's what i got.

(copy and paste from Letterboxd)

This isn't good. But it's only 80 minutes long, and has a reasonably enjoyable first half hour.

Nick Frost is doing Nick Frost things, and is entertainingly hammy. The other two main characters are annoying and the acting is bad, especially the boy friend. He's really bad.

The story is predictable right from the start and somehow still manages to be a let down.

Started watching Marty Supreme the other night. Really enjoyed it, but we ended up calling it a night because it's pretty long and we're pretty old and sleepy.

Weirdly, even though I really enjoyed the hour and half I watched, i'm not in a great rush to watch the rest. I enjoyed the vibe, the score and general sound scaping is superb - I'm really into that sort of thing, and it sounded amazing over 5.1 surround sound. I thought Chalamet was really good, clearly having a whale of a time. But the narrative had kind of lost its momentum by the time we ducked out - perhaps it picks up again in the second half.

Constant Calls for Changing Managers ad Infinitum
at 09:30 26 Feb 2026

I find it hard to have a strong opinion on Stephan really . He seems - fine? Some of the defensive coaching has looked suspect at times. He's done some stuff that has appeared odd from the outside looking in (big rotations out of the blue, then little to no rotation when it would seem the right time for it), but we don't really know what goes on in the dressing room or the training ground. If you had to score him, you'd probably say he's kind of mid-table championship quality - which is what we are as a club right now.

But the point others have made is also true - you're never going to know what a manager can achieve if you don't give them time and support. And he has at least shown he can be successful elsewhere.

And FWIW none of the most obvious problems we have appear to lead back to JS, so on balance it would be stupid to start calling for his head imo.

EDIT: And if the club were to sack JS it would be a diversion from the more structural problems that have been outlined in great detail on this board.

On the basis that JCS and Varane are presumably not at 100% fitness, we have the basis for a hell of an Injured Rangers XI

----Burrell--Obikwu

Chair--Varane--Madsen--Poku

Larkeche---JCS---???---???

Agree it's been really noticeable how often this has happened this season. I'm assuming that it's not quite as big a problem on the pitch? Not sure.

There was an occasion years ago away at Newcastle, sat up in that little corner about 4 miles from the pitch, where I genuinely couldn't tell the teams apart because we were I think in black and blue, and Newcastle were in something similar. Absolutely ridiculous.

That's useful data but it would be even more compelling if it was what compared to other squads in the league.

Obviously in a sport with a team of 11 players you can't have a squad of 28 where everyone is starting the majority of games.

But it would be interesting to know how our squad rotation compares to other teams.

Can someone page Jack Supple?

With Madsen's injury and his pivotal role, it occurs to me that Stephan is about to be forced into the third drastic change to the set up of the season?

Start the season: "game model" template

Post-Coventry: rapid transition, use Burrell's pace to stretch defences, high press

Post-Burrell injury: Kone up top, less pace, more hold up play

Post-Madsen injury: ??? Ronnie to CM? Vale to CM?

I've not started a match thread before, but I thought f*ck it, why not? v Saints

Appreciate this feels largely academic now, but it occurred to me after the Hull game that, with so many teams all eyeing up the sixth playoff spot, our Coventry-deficit goal difference could plausibly come back to haunt us if we were in the running at the end of the season... Even if the gap weren't now looking insurmountable, a minus 6 goal difference would make it very difficult in such a congested table.
