Mark Hughes, sadly formally of this parish, relegated today.

It’s a shame otherwise because I like Carlisle.

The Allotment Thread 🍃
at 17:03 25 Apr 2025

Forget about QPR for the moment.

I moved recently and have got my hands on a new allotment. My previous one was a quarter of the size and pretty much ready to go when I got it

I’ve got all the gear and no idea where to start.

Any advice from fellow green fingered Rs?

The cheapest adult ticket for Man City fans last night was £71.

Appreciate it isn’t QPR but still, outrageous. That’s why I’m not clamouring for the Premiership.

No, not the location of our Austrian regional league pre season friendly, but the German word for taking pleasure in someone else's misfortune.

Chris Willock. Poor career choice lad.

Tied in with Norf's remarks. Defo will have missed some big names here.

Paddy Kenny (Bradford Park Avenue)

Marcus Bignot (Telford)
Ronnie Edwards (Barnet)
Grant Hall (Whitehawk)
Peter Angell (Slough)

Gareth Ainsworth (Northwich Victoria)
Martin Rowlands (Farnborough)
Stuart Wardley (Saffron Walden)
Lee Cook (Aylesbury United)

Les Ferdinand (Hayes)
Charlie Austin (Hungerford Town)

Some potential grounds we’ve not been to in a while in Wrexham, Stockport, and Orient in the race.

Brum have run away with it but I hope two from those three come up.

Pre Season 2025
at 11:37 11 Apr 2025

Dear Nourry

One of the small joys in my sad life (QPR wise) is to visit whatever training matches we have abroad pre season in a small attempt to imagine what European qualification would be like.

Be it Italy, Austria, Germany, or Bahrain.

With that in mind could you PLEASE fix it for me this year to let us have an open door match? Was gutted to miss it last year. The caravan in Swanage with the missus I went to instead just doesn’t cut it.

I know this may come across as spoilt or entitled, especially with new exotic fixtures in North Wales and Stockport on the horizon.

Yours,

G Haddock

Who needs strikers anyway? God knows who’s playing but we usually enjoy a bit of momentum after a win.

Big impact from Kolli expected amid the hype.

I’ll say a Leeds style draw 2-2.

Injuries Data
at 16:54 7 Apr 2025

Can't think of a season injury wise like this one before, except maybe the season we had to play 36 different keepers, but it made me wonder if the increase is trending across football in general.

Apparently it is generally, in the elite leagues anyway.

Came across this which I found interesting reading:

https://www.howdengroupholdings.com/reports/2023-24-mens-european-football-injur

My guess, it's down to contract uncertainly and forcing transfers. Players in less secure circumstances are going to treat slight injuries more seriously aren't they.

Haven't seen this raised in the football zeitgeist but interesting nonetheless.

I mean, I don’t have the list of who’s is ending in June, but it’s playing with fire trying to ensure survival with half your squad needing a new club in three months isn’t it?

How can you expect any of them to put their body on the line when their financial security is doubt or they are courting new clubs.

Would also explain a lot of the injuries we’re getting.

I mean, I know we (the English) have always taken the piss, but I’ve just seen their U21s got walloped 1-6 by Iceland U21s.

Any hope for them? I thought things were looking up last summer.
