| Forum Reply | Is the suggested Liverpool Cup boycott having an effect ? at 11:46 14 Nov 2024
I’m surprised you think the club have pitched this right Nick. Not saying you personally think £30 is right but that you can see why the club have chosen the price they have. I guess the attendance on the night will answer that. As it’s midweek I won’t be going anyway but I personally think £20 would have been the correct number. |

Just seen an email from the club saying I had limited time to buy up to 4 extra tickets for the Liverpool game, but that the £30 offer ends soon. I didn’t realise that the £30 was an early offer! At £30 to watch a largely changed Saints team against a largely changed Liverpool team, this pricing starting point seems absurd. |

Two seasons ago I did let it get to me. This season I was expecting us to get humped regularly so I knew what I was getting into. It’s weird as the crowd haven’t turned on him yet so it’s not as toxic as it was under Ralph/Jones/Selles, but equally as bad if not worse than then. Strange really. [Post edited 10 Nov 18:32]

People not going is what did for Branfoot all those years ago. I went to the game on New Year’s Day against Norwich that season and said I’d not go back until he was gone (probably like a lot of others) I’m not so sure that will work at the moment given how many season ticket holders there are (myself included) that have paid their money in advance. Perhaps the fan-zones empty, people boycotting cup games might make them think a bit. I don’t blame RM, he was an average manager at Swansea and MK Dons. I don’t blame the players. They’re not good enough. Sports Republic need to come out and say what the long term goal is here. It doesn’t look like we are building anything for the future, I don’t see their current strategy working. There has been investment, but instead of it being spent on quality rather than quantity their record of ownership in the premier league must be the worst ever. |

We definitely looked less timid/more front footed at times. But yes there was something there that has been missing at the end of games yesterday. |

The first 10 minutes he seemed to give everything Everton’s way, after that he changed and started to give us free kicks. Some justified, others not. Young tried to take the throw in about 20 yards from where the ball had gone out so Fernandes stood in front of him. The ref completely oblivious to what was happening. Interesting to read comments that people thought Everton were more rubbish than us. But for Ramsdale and the crossbar we could have lost 3-1. |

Delighted with the win, be interested to hear what you thought of the officials ST. Some of the decisions were baffling. |

There’s no profit to be made on a £38M signing unless they have a worldy of a season. Fire enough bullets with £15M signings and one of those is surely going to hit the target aren’t they??? |

We must be due a 2 weeks away update from the club soon surely? |

That was sh1t. I think I’d rather see Ali Dia back in a Saints shirt than Ugochukwu play again. [Post edited 29 Oct 21:52]

I remember walking out after that Norwich game thinking we’d challenge for a European spot. Then we went on that run where we managed to beat Arsenal to guarantee survival Sports Republic have been poor custodians of our club overall. I know some people will point to last seasons record run but they are going to match that with one even worse this season. |

Going to a tough sell next season to supporters if things go as we are all fearing but expecting for this season. |

Little sign of the club relieving RM of his duties, looks like Solent Toffee is going to get his wish of RM being given the Everton game. |

Can you imagine how enjoyable that last game at Goodison is going to be for you lot if this gimp is still in charge of us. The white flag will be raised on the coach to the ground. |

I don’t give a fook about styles of play, for now I just want a manager who makes us a team of horrible b’stards that are horrible to play against and you have to earn a victory against us, coupled with giving the officials a difficult afternoon and not timidly accepting poor decisions. You are right A1079, this has been an issue since Ralph. [Post edited 20 Oct 9:53]

I’m fearful that SR will continue to stick with him. I’m also fearful if they do pull the trigger who we will end up getting next. Neither of these options fills me with hope. |
