My mate is the Match Analyst and one of the coaches at the Red Imps. He just texted a photo of the final score with a rude word about Celtic! He's a Hibs fan who was at Hampden for their Cup FInal, then he joined us at Wembley to see Wimbledon win the Play Off Final ..... and now this. He's the only Scotsman who is having a cracking summer :-) |
| Forum Reply | Do you want Robson Kanu in a swans shirt next season ? at 11:03 11 Jul 2016
I don't really disagree. However, just to correct some assumptions here. Reading did want him, but he told them he wanted to leave so didn't want to enter negotiations on a new contract. Also, his scoring record isn't great but Reading normally played him as a winger, so it isn't really fair to judge him purely on that. I wouldn't mind him on the bench. A bit like Ayew, he can cover wing and striker, and is good at being a nuisance, running channels and creating space for better players. Although, Reading fans do accuse him of only turning up for big games, or when a new contract is due!! We should aim higher. We should focus purely on players who will improve the starting 11, not bench-fodder. |

Premier League teams already declining the invitation. They have until 11th July to make a decision. Which means their places will be offered to Cat 1 Academies in the Championship like Aston Villa, Fulham, Norwich and Reading. What a farce. |

What channel are these games on? I didn't realise that they were on the tellybox. |

To some extent. But people enjoy it because it gives a chance of getting to Wembley. This idea demeans the competition and does nothing to develop players. I'm a regular at AFC Wimbledon and they are fuming about it. |

Me too. Getting to the Autoglass Final for our first trip to Wembley was a magical experience. My daughter's first Swan's game was the Carlisle Final at the Millennium Stadium. This is the FA Cup for the smaller teams. A real treat for the fans. The prospect of Chelsea's Academy playing West Ham's Academy at Wembley in front of no fans should send a shudder through everyone. The way to develop players is getting them into the Premier League teams or send them out on loan to play with lower league first teams. |

Wasn't 3-5-2 Guidolin's preference in the past? I'm sure I read once that Udinese always went with it. |

It should be a EPL law that all clubs run full academies for boys and girls and a senior women's set-up. Keeps them grounded in the community and ensures at least some of the obscene cash ends up supporting local grassroots football. So, I, like others, am delighted if we support the women on their tours. Just hope next year's tour is to Barry Island to redress the balance. |

It was also his first match for over a month (since the Liverpool game). |

Back then, I was 8, 9, 10 years old. I grew up in Manchester so Dad would take me to many of the northern games. If we were there early enough we would see the supporters' coaches arrive, and I thought you were all the greatest thing in the world. A sight to behold. Huge numbers of people who supported MY team, when, at school, I was only ever greeted with, "Who?" Of course, now I know some of you and realise that you are almost all complete arseholes. Kind of ruined the magic. |

Your first one is the closest, but with Chester for Collins and HRK for Vokes, in my opinion. Vokes is too static for international football, in my humbles, of course. |

It's a bit like music - it depends on your age. But I echo the call for Johnny Cornforth, but will also add Roger Freestone, Andy Legg and Jason Bowen. |

I agree. If, as rumoured, he can get a four or five year contract on £100,000 a week at the age of 29, then good luck to the lad. He can also pretty much guarantee all of those years in Europe, seeing as though Arsenal have made the knockout stages of the Champions League for every year this century. |

It's almost as if whenever someone wants to take the p1ss out of something vaguely football related, they dig out a picture of Roy Keane, type up a slightly amusing rant, and distribute it around social media for the gullible to feast upon. |
