I think I said Suga for Capt Jack was a good substitution and led to the goal, from my seat and IMO Bednarek had a great game, he gave it his all and you could see his relief/joy at the off side decision and final whistle , like for Leciester's 3rd goal when he was so pi**ed off with the team/situation? |

The subs today were a lot better, Aribo at HT, IMO he added some steel, a few stray passes but generally got stuck in and tried to go forward, obviously Sugulara for Captain Jack got the assist and he kept AA on and he scored as well as bringing on Dibbling, the last 2 subs just bought height on rather than anything else to see the game out, hopefully Everton hitting the bar is the turning point of our season??? Let's see what we serve up next week but I'm enjoying tonight! |

Agree, other than his goal Archer was non existent, Tall Paul at least tried to hold the ball up or flick it on, but he was isolated other than the one header to the speed merchant with no end product. I think we need to try Tall Paul and AA up front, we can not play one midget striker at home to another relegation favourite? Play 2 up front with Dibbling in a free role behind them? |

Hi Chesham, always appreciate your views, today was more than disappointing, I'm not a happy clapper but I'm not sure who can do any better with this lot, for what it's worth, IMO, who will the board get in??? Another Nathan Jones type??? Again IMO who ever is in charge of our transfers is the problem, we "wasted" millions on 2 potential CB's, millions on players loaned to our sister club, millions on two failed Sheffield United strikers from last season (admittedly Archer scored today but did little else). Other than Ramsdale we did not invest, last May we needed a top class goalkeeper, top class striker, an experienced/reasonable CB and to retain THB and Downes, we got 3 of the 5 needed and that is the problem regardless of who is managing them, as I say my opinion! And why Fernandez was taken off and Lalana not introduced is a mystery and is down to the manager, so maybe a new manager could make a difference but that person needs PL experience, which I can't see us getting? |

Also, out of interest, it would be good to see how Pep and co did at a team like ours, without the money to buy sucesss, like the England job, we currently have some top players so is it really that difficult to pick a team that can win, you go with the players in form in their correct positions, basic 4-4-2 and 80 to 90% of games you should easily win (man on the street or Pep). Good substitutions when needed against the better opposition and given our good raft of players we should win. Just drop the rubbish of playing it out, best RB in some kind of hybrid midfield role, constantly playing a striker who's not fit/in form, I know it's easy from the side lines but Mr Pizza Advert mucked up, we had a golden chance but he kept to playing his buddies/the ones the press wanted in the team and was a headless chicken? Obviously my opinion but for £6m/year I'd put up with any press obuse and believe I could of done better with the players he had the choice of in the summer? |

Our Russ and the CP manager aren't English? |

Sorry but I'd have him back, offers a lot and is an experienced PL player which we need, i.e, took one for the team today, on Monday we just got out the way to allow B'mouth through! |
| Forum Reply | Why RM teams concede so many goals at 21:27 6 Oct 2024
PL or Championship, it's the same, unless your so superior with the players you have this will never work, we struggled last year against absolute sh*t because we are not good enough at the possession at the back game and this was not improved by our summer signings. For a club with our financial clout this is not the tactic we need to win games of football, wake up RM! |
| Forum Reply | Brighton Game at 21:09 6 Oct 2024
Only listened to the commentary on 5 live, all I heard was 40m player, 30m player and 25 m player signed by Brighton this summer and that didn't include O'Rielly who is injured, that sums up the difference as to where both teams are, Brighton, same size if not smaller investing in players and us investing in the possible what if/next best thing to sell? Says it all, we are not interested in success just the next player we can sell on for millions, so regardless of the manager it won't change until we get owners who want success on the pitch? |
| Forum Reply | Dibling at 21:03 2 Oct 2024
Sadly the "big" clubs also see this so he is in the departure lounge, though I hate to say it that is football today! |
| Forum Reply | Bella-Kotchap at 21:57 1 Oct 2024
He does not want to play for us, another signing who has attitude, if Martin plays him and it will be as bad as it now and we will all then be saying it was desperation, just like having tall Paul on the bench last night, desperation? To have any chance in the PL we need to play our one of two quality players in there correct positions and in the starting lineup (KWP & Ramsdale) Sadly we needed two positions filled by quality at the beginning of the summer, goal keeper and striker, we got one (eventually) but you can't win football matches, at what ever level, without scoring goals! We spent millions on Diaz, Archer (Sheffield Utd strike force, say no more!) and two centre backs for the future, B'mouth spent that money on a striker (as always Saints charity steps in for his first goal), it just shows the priorities of the manager/board just who we are buying? Love him or hate him we needed to invest in a Mr Inges (the only real striker we could afford) to stand a chance this season. Instead we have lumbered ourselves with rubbish, not even good enough for next seasons promotion push and worst of all any promising youngsters will see this and bugger off? Total overall needed, owerners, board, manager and team! |

Not a ball up to the big man but our greatest goal in our history is pretty much long ball and a great finish on 01.05.76, I would welcome a few goals like that now? |

I'll go with Nick's line up as starting with the extra player might help in his 3- 5 - 3 formation, assuming we are still playing with a goalie? |
| Forum Reply | Let Dibling start against United. at 20:50 11 Sep 2024
Completely agree, the only signing of the "doomed" 3 in Jan'23, £50m, who had an end result and excited the fans and we got rid of him??? |
| Forum Reply | Let Dibling start against United. at 18:59 11 Sep 2024
Well he's already been poached by Chelsea once and came back so hopefully we can play him and keep his ambitions happy, at least in the short term? |
| Forum Reply | A turning point perhaps? at 21:47 3 Sep 2024
The sad fact is we are fans, not professional footballers with a limited career, so who can blame him? The majority on this site (including me) are old school, we view things from a fans view with the word "loyalty" built in as pre Sky the game was about playing football but it is now money? Harsh but true? |
| Forum Reply | The Red Wall! at 09:57 25 Aug 2024
Maybe as Chesham said it's the acoustics as sitting in the Chapel yesterday you could rarely hear the red wall but could hear the more or less constant away support, would be interesting what you actually hear on the pitch? As I'm old school I go to watch a football match and not a pop concert so from my prospective it was a lot worse in getting in and out of the ground yesterday but obviously with such a sh*t team selection and performance you tend to focus on the negatives. |
