If their player had stopped and not shot because of the injury I would have had huge respect for him - applauding his honour and decency while suspecting him of a bit of look-at-me sanctimonious narcissism. However I’d want one of our players to continue and try and score. |

I saw the Cribs at the Roundhouse a couple years ago. I went as a late replacement and had never heard them before. The atmosphere, crowd, energy and hooks were so great. I was really buzzing. Not normally my scene at all, but loved it. |

I reread the chronicles of Narnia with my kids recently. Didn’t realise first time around what a bigot he was. He’s no democrat. For him, the nobility are noble and should rule because of genetic superiority and workers are feckless and need instruction, and the swarthier among us are deceitful and cruel. |

The work Smyth and Saito did defending was phenomenal yesterday. Willingness to sprint back exceptional. Yes Smyth is limited and frustrating, but I think he's contributing well to this run. |

Yes. Morcilla too. |

Love Jimmy Dunne. A Character, makes things happen, aerially dominant. Yes he has mistakes - the worst generally being rushed or poor clearances when playing centreback - but he doesn't hide afterwards, always contributes. There's a certain mad chaos to his play which I enjoy. You know you've watched him. Not some bland hider you don't even notice. I'll be sad if he goes this summer. |

4 clean sheets out of 7. And that with an injury crisis. Well done all...And really created some danger today, too. They looked so much more confident. I hope they build on it. |

I just happened to turn on BBC2 and immediately Stephen Duke McKenna got man of the match for Harrogate in the FA cup. And he looks tiny next to Mark Chapman and Dion Dublin getting the award. [Post edited 29 Nov 21:48]

Another vote for Honest as the best high street chain. People love five guys but as far as I can tell it's premium pricing for environment and food only slightly better than mcdonalds. |

I did. And I was surprised to see what looked like a really warm interaction with Marti |

Here's an idea. Take the train. Morning Euro star to Paris. Big lunch somewhere great (e.g., les enfants du marché), sleep off the wine on the TGV down to Hendaye, take the local train to Donostia and you'll be there in time for pinxos bar scene in the evening. |

People just sitting in their parked cars with the engine idling. People getting uppity when you gently ask them to turn their engine off after they were sitting in their car with the engine running on your way out for errands, and still on your way back from errands. Related: cafes with space heaters left on all day regardless of the temperature or if there are any customers there. Despite just being gross, it must cost them a fortune. Trailer Happiness on Portobello is bad for this. |

I like my smoked mackerel. There used to be a corner you'd snap and then you could peel the packet back in a really satisfying way. The corner is no more. You have to hack at it with scissors now. |

I'm actually reassured by this. I get loads of Palace and Chelsea content for some reason across Meta franchises. If our tech overlords and their AI lumpenproletariat can't figure out that QPR supporters don't want that then they're not quite as frightening as I thought. [Post edited 12 Nov 14:45]

I knew a simple soldier boy Who grinned at life in empty joy, Slept soundly through the lonesome dark, And whistled early with the lark. In winter trenches, cowed and glum, With crumps and lice and lack of rum, He put a bullet through his brain. No one spoke of him again. You smug-faced crowds with kindling eye Who cheer when soldier lads march by, Sneak home and pray you'll never know The hell where youth and laughter go. - Siegfried Sassoon [Post edited 11 Nov 16:40]

The injuries mean there's really not many options and I can't see anyone - bar Morrison perhaps - being ready to miraculously return tomorrow considering the bench on Tuesday. I think you just need to go 451, choose wingers who can help the fullbacks, keep it tight and try to nick something from a set piece / hope Leeds have an off day. 631 in low block, 4231 if we get real posession (Varane and Field behind the ball). Leftback is the problem. Saito has actually done ok there. Otherwise I'd have suggested Dunne who has a bit of a left foot...plus any midfielder worth their salt (shhhhh!) should be able to play rightback for a game. We seemed to push the boat out to get right back Rocco Friel in...suprised he hasn't made the bench yet in this crisis. Andersen in for his work rate and set pieces, to be replaced when he's knackered at HT or 55 minutes...Probably by Lloyd for his physicality. Nardi Dunne Cook Morrison Saito Smyth Varane Morgan Field Andersen Celar Sheppard Santos Friel Madsen Bennie Lloyd Kolli |
