Nail on head. Turning 18 year old free agents into wonderkins isn’t a sustainable model. Buying a lot of high potential u23/4s is a more sustainable model. And based on the evidence of our eyes (not Southampton’s) he has very high potential indeed |

We cannot as a club say we want to develop players and give youth a chance, when presented with an injury list then say send him out in on loan and get someone else in. When we signed Chris Martin Clive pointed out how absurd it was that we didn’t have any kids in the building capable of filling in for a few weeks. Now we have Kolli and another - so you bloody play them and see. We’re not gonna go up, we’re quickly getting to a comfortable point to try some of these guys out. Win win |

Yes it’s a lot. But he’s either our best CB for 5 years or we sell him for more. Worth every penny. |

Clive keeps his receipts - like a good little tax paying boy. |

Unconvincing, but got the win. Kolli’s finishes really good. Hope he gets a run now (assuming Burrell is out for a while). Probably couldn’t have asked for a better opponent given our dip in form. They would do well to beat a League 2 team (not that it’s their fault). |

Agree with every word of that. Streaky team to begin with + streaky manager. It’s also worth remembering this is the first time he’s ever managed over the Christmas period. So him getting things a bit wrong (the WBA team in particular) is part of the trade off you make when hiring someone without experience in the league. It is boring to see the same faces (or usernames) come out the woodwork after two defeats to tell us all how they were right all along and Stéphan is actually clueless. Remember where we’ve been for the last 3 years. This is better. |

You’re not allowed to come on here and be all nuanced and sensible after a defeat Dave. You have to be calling for heads and speaking in hyperboles about the coaches and players. |

The entire setup and strategy away from home is bizarre. Ainsworth esque in recent performances |

They will go. If you can’t beat a team playing like that at home you’ve not got much hope. Awful performance all round. Stole a point. |

This is essentially what everyone thought was coming. Mentality issue that runs deep |

Our out of position shape is so much better when he’s playing ain’t it. So many times we lose the ball or it’s a loose pass and he’s just there in the right place to mop up. Such a frustrating situation. Clearly the best defender at the club, and clearly not fit to play more than 60 minutes in a week. |

You can see his confidence growing, especially in WLS interviews. No shrugs now are there… |

They really don’t fancy it. Proper phone it in performance. And our team deserve all the credit for that, been at them from minute 1. They remind me of us post 2015 |

Lot of revision on here. Two things can be true at once: Marti did a good job in difficult circumstances and Stéphan is doing a good job in better circumstances. It’s not mutually exclusive Neither are top rangers managers and neither are poor ones. |

It’s explainable - we’ve been really really crap for a few years and therefore winning 2/3 in a week feels like a job well done and, as such, we enter the Harry Redknapp school of bonus games. But it’s not acceptable - you’re playing Boro, they’re good but they’re not Pep’s Barcelona. It could (should) have been a lot worse by HT. We were lucky they declared and should strive to be better than “we’ve already had a good week see you next Saturday” |

And for all the ‘tinker man’ brigade out there - we should be rotating for these games. Every third game we look crap, not giving Hayden / Poku / Dembele etc run outs in these games is poor |
