That was my first game as a season ticket holder. Had always stood in the East Paddock before that. |

Remember that part of the pitch is in perpetual shade. I sat in row H near the half way line for over 25 years and it was always bad there. I will never forget Dominic Iorfa setting off in a run I. The Slough of Despond and completely crocked himself. I think the pitch could be blamed. |

Looking at a single game, I would have to say that time when Paul Hart was briefly manager and we played a 9-0-1 formation against Bristol City (?). That was pretty bad. |

A sad loss. I remember him fielding at Lords for Hampshire against Surrey in a NatWest final. I was sitting in the Grandstand with the Surrey members. He must have saved 30 runs in the field from his anticipation and athleticism. At the end of the innings we all gave him a standing ovation. He waved back. Top man. |

Great player. Fond memories of ‘Bonzo’. He spent time with us as a coach. |

The Leg of Mutton and Cauliflower in Epsom somewhere. Always led to arguments in my youth on whether it scored one run in pub cricket. Not many places do! |

Well, winning 8 qualifiers without conceding hasn’t been done before. Maybe there is a chance this time. |

Went in 2012. That was fun. Andy Carter had an off day and everything England tried came off. Hope something similar happens tomorrow. Enjoy. |

I’d forgive him anything after that penalty save at Newcastle. I was at that game. It would have been a travesty if justice if we hadn’t won that one. |
 | Forum Reply | The Ashes - England to win ??? at 11:12 14 Nov 2025
The first priority in any test match is to take 20 wickets. If you can’t do that you won’t win. Next question-can we get enough runs on the board to put them under a bit of pressure. If-and it’s big if-our top 5 perform, then it is possible. As for a prediction-I will hope that we don’t lose the first test. If so, then a fighting 3-2 could happen. If we lose the first test then I can see a 5-0 hammering with Stokes resigning as captain immediately afterwards. So, with fingers crossed, I’ll say a dramatic 3-2. |

Ok then, here is my comment. I was at this game and remember it vividly. What a free kick that was. The ball was still rising as it hit the back of the net. Am I right in thinking Pierre van Hooijdonck (spelling?) did a similar one for Forest that season? Also at the Loft end. |

Sadly the Wandsworth dreys are no more. I thought Frey was ok actually for the most part. He set up Smyth in the first minute. But I think the Kone/Burrell duo should start most games. |

England look fairly decent against a dodgy Welsh side. I do wish they would cut out pratting about in front of the goalie. Nearly cost them a goal and it would have been all their own fault. |

There are some good ones in Holland. I like Go Ahead Eagles as a name. Also ADO Den Haag. The initials are Alles Door Opdracht (all through effort). |

It’s also the starting point for a number of excellent hikes. While staying in Fort William we trained it to Corrour station and climbed Stob Coire Easain. Then trained out again from Roybridge ( the next stop up the line but about 10 miles away). The scenery is magnificent. |
