In December 1999 [Dean Holdsworth] was sentenced to 18 months probation for punching his wife Samantha Holdsworth.

There, your hatred no longer needs to be irrational...

Just a week after her first child Mrs Hoilett may not be keen, but maybe Junior should consider fathering children more often.

Myke, not sure (as much as I know about it) that we were much worse - if at all - than Sunderland, they just got a little luckier, more often, than at least three other teams. Irrelevant really, cos we were worse than the other 18 by, as you say, some distance.

The doctor is in. (I'm not a doctor)
Further to your enquiry above if a knee had no ligaments I believe it would do nothing but bend, but not at the behest of said knee's owner.

Naïve Rangers undone at the death — report

A bit aside, but, tattoos eh? I don't know what that's meant to be on the back of that lad's hand. I can't work out if it's Vivienne Westwood or Ruth Ellis.

Henry’s surprise strike brings just reward to Austin’s bravery — report
at 17:42:29

The first bit of your report is pretty much (exactly) what I was 'ranting' about. It really is shocking, aint it?

Also agree with you on the Ref. a magnificent anonymous game. At the penalty shout, people around me were saying "well if it's not a penalty Johnson should be booked." But to me it looked, and I haven't seen it since like a crunching but fair tackle that Johnson was toppled by. No foul, no diving.

I had a perfect view of the goal kick controversy that had people baying for D'Urso's blood in the first half, and the ball clearly went nowhere near a Bolton player after it came off an R's leg. What are some people on..?

Glorious Austin goal keeps QPR on league-leading pace — report

I quite like the fact that despite him now being in his third season, and little evidence that a change is gonna come, there seems to be an affection for SWP. "Come on Shauney!" they shout, with genuine hope...

What we go to school for — preview
at 09:13:40

I was in Camp Nou the night Ronaldinho scored his self-proclaimed miracle.

And even Mrs Izlington Hoop got out of her seat!

But the Oldham night was better.

But for me the night Kenny Sansom sealed it against the Arse in the FA cup! All we got was a trip to Blackpool and two shitty replays, but the roof really came off!

As for the Effeminates, we were there the night their roof came off too. This summer's Green Day gig (or was it Busted?) wow! Cartoon punk. Most edifying.

The kits are alright
at 12:47:25

Those above are spot on complaining about unnecessary kit changes.

Teams like us, arsenal, Wolves with iconic colours or designs should only change if they have to - ie the ref insists on it due to a clash; if nothing else the home fans deserve to see these iconic kits!

I remember seeing Plymouth in orange a few years back at the Bush and was most indignant! A little research at the time and it became apparent that that season Plymouth had no need for a change kit in the league, not one team in that league had a splash of green on their kit. A Plymothian pal of mine explained that the reasoning behind this money spinner was their manager had connections with Dundee United. As I live and breathe.

In my middle aged world all keepers should wear a plain green* top with a badge, and shorts and socks the same as the out-field players - I'm sure that's what they looked like in my sticker books in the late 60s and early 70s.

*yellow against Plymouth

The kits are alright
at 07:33:14

I too thought immediately of the mid-90s away kit with the goaly's kit. And (a bit shamefully - cos it should be Dennis) think it might be the best!

Odd that Man Utd copied it 99-00...

I too like the kits this season, but worry a little that the hoops might be getting too wide. Only four above the waist line? Looking at old pictures of Stan, five, too me seems optimum.

But also I think I'm alone in liking the lots of hoops of the last two seasons.

And, again, Stan looks ok in them:

Still just a potato — full match report
at 16:37:16

Harry really does look like a man at a do scanning for the exit... And personally, like Kaos_Agent, I wouldn't be too sad if he finds it.

I watched the game online, and the BBC live match thingy said Granero replaced Remy at half time, so when the commentator on the feed I was using mentioned Remy as being involved in play I was a little befuddled - let's face it some of these streams make it tricky to tell one team from the other let alone the individual players, so I didn't know... But at least I'm getting married to a lovely lady from Russia next week!

Wooden spoon distracts from real issue for Reading and QPR — opposition focus
at 12:19:20

It is with amusement I have read Madejski's stone throwing this week.
'Hey we've done it right, you've done it wrong.' To which he might add, 'And look, to prove it we've ended up in, er, exactly the same place (only quicker)..'
Give it a rest Madejski.
No one's gonna deny what a balls our lot have made of it, but, really we don't need to be told by them!

Last-gasp Maloney strike devastates QPR — full match report
at 11:34:30

Last week I was socialising with my good friend, a Sunderland supporter. He is well used to relegation and (in their case) promotion. His opinion is that the Championship is good fun, hurly burly, they win more than they lose and you might even win it. There is no prize for winning the Championship - just misery and effort and a crushing sense of doom. The money available is of no concern to the fans.

It's been a couple of horrible years for us - Liverpool 3-2, Arsenal, Spurs, Chelsea and Chelsea at their place, and the last minute Stoke victories aside, but the joy of these was only formed out of the grinding misery of everthing else we have suffered.

And apparently everyone hates our little club now, and what did we, the fans do to deserve THAT!?

I'd love to say things can only get better, but we know don't we..?
