They only managed to make £83mil from merchandise and kit sales. Obscene numbers, but this is offset by the ludicrous amount spent on the squad. Are we at the point where this can called unethical? If not now, when? [Post edited 27 Feb 9:51]

I'm bringing my boots just in case and if I do get a run out, keep the feedback constructive. |

All good points and I particularly agree about the physicality. I think like with Kolli, he needs game time. You’ll have moments like Coventry (I think?) Where he lost his man and was ball watching for the goal and moments like yesterday, but that’s all part of his development. I don’t really understand the development squad situation. You’ve got player like Lloyd, Kolli, and Esquerdinha, and obviously Bennie, who I think of as first team players, but aren’t. They seem to be in limbo between the two. On call if someone gets injured, but back down to the development squad when not needed. I’m sure there’s system/structure, but I’m not aware of how it works. |

Brilliant! They remind me of an Australian version of Half Man Half Biscuit, with strong undertones of Suicidal Tendencies ‘institutionalised’. |

One for you QPRJohnny, a mention about Bennie and his goal yesterday. “I was just like, f**k it, why not hit it and it went in the top corner” https://www.theguardian.com/fo [Post edited 22 Feb 7:31]

Well happy with that! Didn’t expect to win and certainly didn’t expect Bennie to score such a cracker! Well done Rangers!!! |

I’m all for this and I apologise if the following comment sounds pretentious…feel free to send to pseuds corner. My fondest memory of Faurlin was seeing him sitting outside a coffee shop in Chiswick after the last home game of 15/16 season. We’d won 1-0, Karl Henry (remember him?) with a rare goal, and not a bad one at that. I also remember the Bristol City players didn’t come out after the game which seemed rude. Anyway, it was a warm sunny day and Ale was relaxing with his family. He was still in his QPR suit minus the tie. He looked relaxed and happy. For a moment it was a perfect snap shot of professional football life. He was the total antithesis of the generic, brainless footballer (Rowan Vine…etc). I felt lucky to have a classy player like Ale represent QPR. I pointed him out to my friend, who seemed more excited than me. He told me to go talk to him and get a picture. I said no, told him we should leave him be, let him enjoy his time with his family. For me that wasn’t the time or place. If I was going to talk to him I’d want the time to really talk football, full on Jonathan Wilson/Mundial vibes. I love Ale’s genuine passion for the game, for playing in midfield, the craft of playing, that fine line between instinct and technical ability. Playing with style and a relentless pursuit of perfection. The perfect touch, the perfect pass. Instinctively knowing where to be. The coffee shop is the perfect setting for this conversation, evoking images of 1920’s Vienna: https://thesefootballtimes.co/ For me football is all about the romance and fleeting moments of joy. You have to savour and embellish both. There’s a lot wrong with modern football, but Ale’s one of the rare bright spots. |

Don’t get me wrong mate, I’m not happy with our mediocracy and certainly not happy when we lose games like Saturday. Do I think the club should and can do better? Yes! I appreciate my comment is annoying to read after Saturday, but it is born out of frustration. Frustration that we can’t see off a sh*t team at home and string a few wins together, especially when the play-offs are in sight. I don’t know who’s to blame anymore. The players? The head coach? CEO? The board? Epstein? Late capitalism? Jude the Cat?! [Post edited 16 Feb 11:33]

What doesn’t he get about English football that our previous managers understood? We’ve been crap since being relegated from the premier league. The owners have tried to balance the books and the reality of doing so is not being competitive. That is our reality. You have to enjoy the odd wins, Birmingham, Leicester, Coventry etc because that’s as good as it gets for us. |

Painting by Peter Doig (one of my favourite painters) inspired by the iconic ending to Friday 13th. Sold for £30mill, probably worth more than our entire squad! |
 | Forum Reply | EFL clubs to vote on expanding Championship playoffs to six clubs at 23:53 10 Feb 2026
The idea of a play-off opens itself to expansion, so it’s not a totally ridiculous idea or one that is likely to have a negative impact on the game like VAR. What difference does it make to QPR if an average team sneaks into the PL? It could be us and it could be us getting that cash injection. Over the long term could it make the championship more competitive? [Post edited 11 Feb 8:55]

I like Sam and think he’s a good squad player. But it’s unrealistic to expect him to hang about just for the odd sub appearance. As he said in his Norwich interview, he wants to play. When you think about some of the charlatans we’ve had at the club, he’s definitely been one of the better pro’s. Good luck to him. |

Top 3 is really difficult, but I know for sure that Repo Man would be in there. 'The life of a QPR fan is always intense' |
