Lots of options from NW2. Jubilee Line to Kilburn then Overland to the Bush. Or whatever nonsense the train's called now. Or I walk a bit to get a 52 to Ladbroke Grove then take the tube to Wood Lane if I'm cutting it fine or Shepherds Bush Green if I've got time to have a meet up in the Defectors. Or just Lime Bike it to Ladbroke Grove and then Wood Lane/SB Market. My favourite, if I've got the time, is walk the three miles to Ladbroke Grove and do the same in reverse. Only manage that once a season. |

I watched the first half of the Sheff U Leeds game last night. Sheff came flying out the blocks and had a lot of it their way for the first 20 mins before Leeds began to work their way back in. Missed the 2nd half but wasn't surprised to see Sheff conceded 3 late goals. Last Monday. Sunderland also started well against Leeds, then let them back in, then sat deeper and deeper and finally let 2 late goals in. I'm looking forward to seeing what Marti can do against Leeds at home in a few weeks. Should be tatsty. |
 | Forum Reply | Neil Warnock on Sky as a pundit for Leeds/ Sunderland at 16:34 21 Feb 2025
The bloke's legacy across English football is legendary as are his man management skills. Marti also seems to have built a great dressing room spirit and , like Warnock, finds it easy to talk to the fans and the media. But of course Marti's also steeped in the technical side of the job which was less of a thing for most managers of Warnock's generation. What a great combo. We're lucky. |

I did it maybe 12 years ago when I spotted that it was Mackie doing it. The regular guides were excellent, Mackie was amazing. He stayed around all night answering questions - nothing was too much trouble. I loved it as did my young son who was around 8 at the time. |

Sunderland sat so deep in the second half it was almost inevitable that at least one goal was going to get through. Reminded me of the 1st half away to Lids in 2023. |

Watching the replays this morning. I could watch Chair's first all day. Loving his "calm down dear" celebration which I didn't spot yesterday. Excellent. |

BBC says it's going to happen. "Eustace believes that Derby are a better long terms prospect". Fair enough. |

When I heard that Angel Raynor was considering new rules around Islamic hate crimes I automatically assumed it was to stop bilge like this. But her intended law is actually the other way round! God help us... |

I was in a bar in Bethnal Green on Saturday and there was a large notice telling people NOT to queue. I asked the barmaid who was doing it and she just rolled her eyes and said it was a millennial thing. |
 | Forum Reply | Live footie vs streams/TV at 10:19 4 Feb 2025
The two experiences are very different but I'm glad streams exist as I don't go to many away games and now get to watch a load of them. And tonight I'm in two minds as to whether to go or not as work's very busy. So a stream is a good plan b. As others have said, at the game you spot all sorts of additional things you just can't get on a stream. That's the main difference from a football perspective. Plus it's obviously such a social thing to do. And goal celebrations in the safe standing area are mental. |

I remember seeing him before his first game at Rotherham walking over to our travelling fans and applauding them. The man is class. |

I was watching his 1st half performance against Watford. In six attempts he put it out of play five times and passed it to the opposition the other time. All in the space of a few minutes. In the second half he'd calmed right down - I presume Marti had had a word with him. |
