just more proof of the disaster that Katarina Liebherr and her cockroaches have subjected us to. The contrast between Koeman s inept set up of the same Saints team as last year basically the midfield is intact, just fills me with trepidation. I dont like this long passing hoof if up to Pelle approach it wont work and if Koeman persists with this we are going down. There is nothing we can do but watch on with dismay what will be will be but i have a nasty feeling this is going to be a horrible season for Saints fans. Why? first the sales, sheer lunacy, followed by a turn around with Spider being forced to stay. If they were capable of that approach with the dickens did they not put their foot down from day one and stop any one leaving. Stupid. Second, look at who we have brought in. Tadic is ok,but is he as good as lallana? Not on current evidence but early days I guess. Pelle a repacement for SRL? YEAH RIGHT..the only surprise has been Bertrand good player. I am just furious. wish KL would sell up take her idiots with her. |

Gallagher wasnt even on the bench must have been injured. I was thinking during the game that he should have been brought o would at least have done as well as Pelle, and would have run at the WBA defence which Pelle never did coz he cant turn...things had better improve quickly or this could turn out to be a disaster in the making pfff |

Pelle looked really slow cant turn and really clumsy. I kept thinking Gallagher would have done a lot better but he wasnt even on the bench, frankly I am worried. Why didnt Taider get a chance could have come on instead of Davis, instead Cork was brought on , almost as though Koeman had already settled for a point, Saints were that bad. Thats what you get when you sell half your first team for gods sake. The only new signings to impress today were Bertrand ,Tadic and Forster. But is Tadic as good as Lallana,on this showing I think not. |

The way things have gone it does look as if the ground has been prepared for a sale of the club. Short termism, following on from the sale of or top players, suggests she plans to sell. I believe this was always her plan, and I will be amazed if the club buys more than one player now, if that. The rest will all be loans. There are a lot of rumors on the continent that the club is up for sale that KL wanted 200m but was advised to sell intangible assets to bring the price down. There are no long term plans at Saints, for the expansion of the stadium for instance which would be needed if we were to make a serious challenge on the top four. Krueger apparently has been busy hawking the club around Canada Switzerland and the far east. He hasnt been at St Marys all that much, and this is why. |

The word in Portugal today is that Saints are trying to buy Marcos Rojo from Sporting for around 12 million pounds. Sporting are looking for 20 million euros so are likely to be knocked back, think they will have to bid 15 million to get him. In other words a club record. cant see it. The two clubs are in talks. Ill let you know any news in due course. Football press much more transparent here. |

I ve read every post and hey Saints fans are awakening at last it seems. For weeks I have been warning of a fire sale,as Miss Liebherr cashes in. Equally though I just cant think that she will retain the club, such is the growing sense of betrayal and opposition to her ownership, hardly surprising. It is obvious that not everyone liked Cortese, but to me he was the best thing to happen to Southampton football club in a very long time. People forget that he it was that persuaded Markus to buy the club, and it was very much his baby. The saddest day was when he left , I knew trouble was just around the corner, underlined by the appointment of two yes men to positions of power at Saints. Neither could run a sweet shop be assured of that they just are not qualified. It is yet another indictment of Liebherr s intentions, the lack of direction at the club, the blood letting will not cease until every player for whom a mega offer is submitted has left the club. I imagine that Liebherr is working on the sale of the club, because if she isnt, we are in for a very bumpy ride, both on the field and off it. The only thing that will stop this scenario is the dismissal of reed and Krueger, and the appointment of proper professionals to run the club. But since clearly Liebherr is only interested in cashing in, no self respecting professional would join the club and watch it being flushed down the toilet. There remains a faint hope that where Chambers is concerned that he did not play because of illness, and that logically he could not possibly have gone for a medical instead but who knows. Lying is easy these days nobody cares. I m afraid Nick is extremely naive when it comes to corporate business matters, there is a ruthlessness about what is being done which goes way beyond the conception of the average fan and its devastating to watch. Fans just want to watch their team worship their stars, not see them sold for god s sake, where is the fun in that? Its simply not enough to say stars come and go, fans want to enjoy them for a lot longer than one season. The club has severely damaged the rapport with the fans that is essential, dont expect full houses next season, I fear that the reality of the situation will have an effect and people will simply stay away out of sheer disgust. |

I admire the positivism but give me a break whats happened to Saints over the last 6 months is enough to turn me to drink..wheres all the ambition gone?? |
| Forum Reply | Players in at 13:35 20 Jul 2014
you are dreaming.. there s more chance of the club being sold than six players coming in, not going to happen we have been duped by Les Reed totally.. remember his spiel about a dept dedicated to identifying signings researching players on a constant basis?? Just so much eye wash to deceive us all into buying season tickets,... |

I could not agree with you more. The problem is that perceptions, and ambitions have changed, and the present regime fills me with no enthusiasm at all. The writing was on the wall from the moment Cortese left and its no good pretending he wasnt good for t he club he was BRILLIANT and this lot appear weak by comparison. The fact that Katarina Liebherr, weak chinned as she seems inherited the club from her father is tragic for Saints, she has no future at the club in my opinion long term and she should think about selling the club before we go into freefall. Because I predict we will. |

a case of handbags I reckon especially from Clickinsect who is probably a weed..hot air merchant, period. Im going to be seriously pissed off if Saints sell all of their best players, starting with Shaw. Its simply a terrible move and the club should explain itself. Are we always going to sell our best players where is the ambition in this club , frankly I am disgusted. As Ive said before fire sale coming up. |

Talk Sport are saying Malky Mackay has been sounded out , I sincerely hope not all our players would hand in transfer requests. Having said that I dont trust this Board, I think the sticking point has been the transfer budget and the fact that KL will not stump up any cash. Malky would probably work with anything the club throws at him, so he would fit the bill in short KL simply does not care. |

Cortese left because Liebherr would not provide the investment needed to push to the champions League. We need an owner who is committed. Liebherr is not that person.. She is being really inept, I can see the club sinking into the mire, and even struggling to stay up next season. There has been no comment by the club we are being treated as if we didnt exist they need to be reminded that without the fans there would be no club. The best thing that can happen now is for fans to express their concern en masse let them know you are not happy , perhaps that will get Miss Liebherr to accept that she has two choices, support the club, or sell it. |

We as fans find ourselves in an apalling situation. Once again having finished eighth, remember Strachan, the club has failed to support adequately financially and we now see that not only Pochettino will leave but potentially half our squad as well. its frankly criminal, Markus Liebherr would be turning in his grave. I honestly think Katarina Liebherr owes us an explanation, going to football is not cheap and why should we just be expected to spend money going to watch games if the club shows no ambition whatever. All this situation does sadly is confirm why Cortese left. Liebherr wants a return on her money and does not care about sporting achievement . Sad as it may seem I really do think she should put the club on the market there are plenty of rich men out there who will be a damn sight more enthusiastic about expanding the club and creating a world brand. it can be done. Yes it takes money. And it also takes a chief executive or chairman who knows what he is doing is experienced and Krueger and Reed just dont fit the bill. Ive got more experience than both of them put together I have run a large business and I am not sure what Miss Liebherr was doing appointing these two men. Except that if she wanted a couple of yes men who would do her bidding without question, then she could not have chosen better. They dont have business or corporate experience. What I want to know is what her plans are for this club and I think she owes us an explanation for the failure to keep Pochettino as its obvious that his departure would cause great instability and lead to player discontent. Try persuading Shaw and Lallana to stay now, or Schneiderlin and Rodriguez. They will go. I had hoped Miss Liebherr would somehow be able to continue with her father s plan for the club but I guess it was just wishful thinking. The woman knows little about the game and probably does not realize the damage the departure of Cortese and Pochettino will do to the club. I am sure there will be plenty who will disagree with me but I dont want to be right. But I am a realist and I can see no circumstance in which we would somehow retain our squad add to it and move on. Its not going to happen, and we have Miss Liebherr to thank for that. What is most hurtful are the statements from her Krueger and Reed assuring fans that players would not be sold. What are those assurances worth now? Absolutely nothing. My only hope is that someone , perhaps Cortese himself will put together a plan to purchase the club from Liebherr, because that is by far the best outcome we could have. Cortese has said he would not come back, but I am hoping that he will reconsider and find a purchaser who will take up Markus Liebherr s mantle and take us on upwards. Because its obvious that this owner will not. |
