 | Forum Reply | Cameron Archer's inability to press at 05:56 27 Apr 2025
I don’t think you are wrong. Didn’t he come from Villa ? A club who have had a good crack at the Champions League this season and may well qualify again for the next ? I bet that they couldn’t believe their luck when Sports Republic’s doughnuts rode into Villa Park in the close season. |
 | Forum Reply | Cameron Archer's inability to press at 22:56 26 Apr 2025
Because Archer is, and always will be, just a journey man footballer who doesn’t appear to care who’s shirt he wears. Honestly, would you make any effort knowing that you would pick up £20 to £30 thousand whatever effort you put in ? Just another example ( there are so many others) of Sports Republic’s total ineptitude in the player recruitment department. |

Nick, ever heard of there’s a time and place for everything ? I’ve no religious affiliation whatsoever but suspect that on this day in particular, many Catholic Saints supporters will have found your comments here to be unnecessary at best. It’s your site but a glance at the Terms and Conditions wouldn’t go amiss ? |
 | Forum Reply | Bazunu’s loan spell ended early at 22:18 25 Apr 2025
In Bazunu’s defence he does appear to be quite a decent footballer with his feet, just pretty hopeless with his hands. Perhaps Sports Republic will play him at centre forward next season when they finally accept that Ross Stewart’s long term injury was exactly that, long term. |
 | Forum Thread | Neither are my favourites but congratulations to Leeds and Burnley. at 20:27 21 Apr 2025
Particularly to Leeds who suffered defeat against us in last season’s playoffs after finishing well ahead of us in the Championship proper. I hope that at least one of them can make a better effort in the top flight than Sports Republic’s pathetic attempt this season. |
 | Forum Reply | Shameful by Southampton Football Club at 12:31 21 Apr 2025
Pat, it appears to me that to you the “bricks problem” is actually a symptom of a greater disease so to speak. The disease is Sports Republic’s apparently total inability to successfully communicate and empathise with it’s own supporters. Two totally different examples come to mind :- 1. No acknowledgment or tribute following the death of Chris Nicholl. 2. The pricing of this season’s F A Cup games. I’m not sure how, but to me in years past being a Southampton fan was being part of a bigger family. We stuck together through good and bad times because there was a view that the Club cared about us. Sports Republic and their inept employees have totally destroyed that bond. In fact it now appears to me to be “a them and us situation” much along the lines of give us your money or bugger off. Much like Butty I find Nick’s slavish support of all things Sports Republic to be completely unfathomable but at the end of the day he is entitled to his opinion. I’m confident differing views won’t end your friendship, after all there’s more to life than football. [Post edited 21 Apr 12:33]

Didn’t Koeman and his brother both wish to stay but we wouldn’t match Everton’s salary offer ? If that were the case it’s ironic given the £millions we have wasted settling the contracts of a succession of managers ever since. |

Great times at the Dell Nick, when it was a joy to watch some very accomplished and skilled players putting in a proper shift. I didn’t go to Cardiff but saw all of the other matches. My memory isn’t what it used to be but In regard to the Blackburn game :- 1. Didn’t the fans give Bailey a torrid time because he had got one of our players sent off earlier in the season during the reverse fixture ? 2. Didn’t one of our players ( I can’t remember who ) knock the ball out of their keepers hands, side foot it into the goal and the referee allowed it to stand ? |

Thank you for bringing the significance of today’s date to my attention 1885. I’ve not been to any of the death camps but have visited many of the Normandy and Somme cemeteries both large and small, on each occasion I was reminded of the words generally attributed to Thomas Jefferson, the Third President of the United States:- “ The price of freedom is eternal vigilance”. |

Could that be the same Carragher, the tedious, self opinionated, whiny Scouse idiot who it’s suggested has history for spitting at fourteen year old girls ? |

Not sure if it’s a record but nowadays it may as well be:- Only team ever to play in an F A Cup Semi Final ( Leicester) and not to have one shot or header on goal ? |

Nick is now so pro Sports Republic that if they doubled the price of next season’s tickets and told everyone that attended it was compulsory to spend the whole game stood on one leg,he would say it was to our benefit. |

Spot on City boy. Trump may think that he’s Billy Big Bollocks but when the Bond Market Vigilantes say jump, even he has to enquire “ how high” ? Hence his face saving capitulation yesterday. It’s not coincidence that Covid supposedly ended very suddenly in the U K. Nothing to do with the medical evidence and everything to do with Johnson and Sunak being unable to borrow any more money at favourable terms to throw at the public. Same with Liz Truss, the Bond Market Vigilantes didn’t like her economic policies and within 49 days she was just a footnote in history. |

With you all the way Pat. The thought of the possibility of old rubber face being at St Mary’s on match days would be enough to stop me renewing my season ticket, along with a good few others I suspect. |
 | Forum Thread | Southampton F C Accounts for the year ending June 30 2024 at 10:24 7 Apr 2025
A profit of £5.7 million for the year was suggested last week but according to the Companies House web site this morning, the accounts are overdue and the omission is highlighted in red. I wonder if there is a reason they don’t appear to have been submitted on time ? |

Why take any notice of Blackmore’s opinions ? He rarely criticises anything the club or players do and his radio commentary usually centres around his own perceived self importance and supposed tactical genius. Tessum on the other hand has played at the top level, knows his football and is not afraid to call it as he sees it. Radio Solent could do a lot worse than pension Blackmore off and let Tessum have the gig in my opinion. |
