Great report, and great synopsis of the blight(s) of modern football.
I remember when Charlie Austin came back and he seemed frustrated with the piss-balling around at the time, so went on record to urge his team mates to "knock it up front and let's have a few 50-50s".
Great to see Bennie have a go (and, fortunately that doesn't seem to have been trained out of Kolli yet either). |

I always quite liked him at Rangers as you never knew what was going to happen (though as time went on it became more predictable!). He may be a good kid but there was always something that played on my mind as to how much of a team player he was - nothing huge, but he would milk the applause a little too long after he scored and the rest of the team had gone back to reset. And seemed to want his individual moment after games to celebrate with fans. Also, remember him pushing Jimmy D and trying to put him off when he was doing the Christmas bauble challenge. As I say, not big things, maybe just a lack of maturity, but did make me wonder. Glad we parted and got the money but good luck to him. |

That was a really good finish - as he decided not to go across the keeper to the right hand post it would’ve been really easy to drag it wide of the left hand post. |

A couple of people impressed by Sutton - I would have liked to see him further up the pitch to create a bit of danger - Brentford defenders were far too comfortable. But maybe that’s just because I wanted to see some more attacking intent - I don’t know, maybe actually having a striker on the pitch at some point. Not overly enamoured with Walsh’s long ball down the middle - the tactic seemed to be don’t challenge for it (as there was no striker) so just try and win the second ball 🤔 |
