I havenā€™t seen a decent side that would grace the Premiership yet, and basically weā€™ve got about half a side at the moment. With a couple of players hopefully coming back, plus some good business by our ā€œNewā€ owners in January, i canā€™t see why we canā€™t progress up the table with the amount of games still awaiting us.

Heā€™s a lazy, thinks heā€™s better than he really is, nobody, who thinks heā€™s entitled to a living, and decides that if the planets are in enlightenment, and heā€™s got out of the right side of the bed, then itā€™s game time.
And a WINGER he definitely ainā€™t !

Swansea City v Watford : Match day thread
at 11:04 7 Nov 2024

Myself and a mate have been ST holders since Liberty was built. But after watching the t1t boring football on offer for the last few years, the enthusiasm has been sucked out of us, and both of us didnā€™t renew this season. I have paid to watch 3 games so far, and after tv watching the Watford game, I must admit that if the Swans continued in that style of a more progressive approach to games, with a solid looking defence, the star find of Lawrence Vigourou, and some decent strikers, I would renew next season for sure.
But then thereā€™s the big American elephant in the room question.
Who knows what the fek they will do?
Backing one of their managers for instance?
Unfortunately an elephant supposedly never forgets, and theyā€™ll never forget to buy trousers with very short pockets.

Oxford United v Swansea City : Match day thread

Why oh why does he HAVE to bring on 3 subs at once ??
This always destroys the balance of the team.
Not once has it improved it.
Surely one of his many staff of assistants can see what every man and his whippet sees, that It just doesnā€™t work !
If that Oxford guyā€™s header that just missed the far post n injury time, had gone in, there would have been a vast post mortem of anger directed at LW, for throwing a much need 2 points away.
Especially after almost complete control of the game for 88 mins, complete madness.
Contrary to that, I think LW has found a new centre forward for us.
The way Bianchini finished was class, so top marks go to the manager for that substitution.
I am not criticising Luke for his overall management, because heā€™s been made to operate with a paper thin squad.
If the Yanks donā€™t help him on the Cabango & Darling front, that will seem like a mighty stab in the back.
I wonder if the Christie signing is their cheap skate way of cover for probably Darling going ?

Hear bleeding hear !
Totally agree with your thugs, $hite ref, $hite coach summing up. How didnā€™t he send that guy off for an obvious 2nd yellow??
We havenā€™t scored since The doomsday book was written, so what does our hapless manager do? Play Grimes as a wondering centre half, and play the equally hapless Harris with a million names.
I must however totally disagree with ā€œThis wasnā€™t down to the ownersā€
Itā€™s fekn 100% down to them!!
The amount of dead wood they have written cheques for, is unbelievable!!
Plus the managerial merry go round of inept, one trick pony managers/coaches since Potter, shows their total lack of football intelligence.
To be honest Iā€™d rather we go down, they fek off, and we start again from ground zero.
Much better than death by a thousand cuts.

We have a budding partnership in Canango & Darling, that could be one of the best pairings in the Championship, and what have the Owners offered them ?
Jack all !
It just goes to show how good professionals the 2 of them are, when they both still give 100% every game.
Then thereā€™s the lack of goals, plus the lack of shots at goal to consider.
When you think Piroe scored back to back 20 goal seasons, what have we done to replace that loss of goals?
Enter banjo Yates, and Kukharevich, (who couldnā€™t get a game off the bench), both farmed out on loans after paying Ā£2m for each of them.
Next was Vipotnik, as of yet, not troubling the scorers.
Plan B, stick Liam Cullen up front ! šŸ˜³
There is one binding element amongst all thisā€¦ Luke Williams.
Iā€™m starting to think old Albert was correct in his judgement of insanityā€¦

Second class males
at 12:53 29 Sep 2024

Just thought Iā€™d have a look at live Womenā€™s super league footers on BBC 2, thatā€™s on now.
First thought was, 3 women on the pitch discussing the pre match build up.
Match starts, and thereā€™s 2 women commentating.
Whenever I watch a menā€™s match, there seems to be the obligatory female, either interviewing, pre match, or on the panel discussing the match.
How come (at this moment) thereā€™s not a male to be seen or heard on this game ?
Honestly, I just donā€™t understand the reasoning ?
And before all the snowflakes say Iā€™m a chauvinist pig, Iā€™m totally not against women commenting or being on panels, I just dong see the logic.

What are the Yanks thinking by letting him go on loan when we only have 2 recognitions strikers on the books?
Iā€™m not saying heā€™s proved anything yet in the first team, but you need a least 3 strikers in case of injuries, suspensions, 46 games + cups.
Cullen gets injured, so we just have Sputnik, who, (and I thought I would never ever use these words) looks a downgrade on Yates !
So our genius manager takes him off, and puts Cooper up front !!
I think the Wycombe game was the worst Swans performance (and against a league 1 team) that I have witnessed in 50 yrs of going to watch them.
Then the WBA game.
It would be an affront to schoolboys, to say we defended like them.
Darling, Tymon, Keys, Cabango, what were you thinking ? and most of all LW for not seemingly, being able to coach the basics in defending, plus introducing walking football to The Championship.
Then you have a midfield of Captain slow Grimes, me to you Fulton, square peg Abdulai, lightweight Jisung Eom, and you wonder why the ball never gets to whoever is up front.

These, (and more) are at the disposal of LW ~~>

Swansea City: Lawrence Vigouroux; Josh Key, Ben Cabango, Harry Darling, Josh Tymon; Matt Grimes (captain), GonƧalo Franco, Ollie Cooper; Jisung Eom, Žan Vipotnik, Ronald.

Substitutes: Jon McLaughlin, Kristian Pedersen, Jay Fulton, Joe Allen, Florian Bianchini, Myles Peart-Harris, Kyle Naughton, Nelson Abbey, Azeem Abdulai.

Surely LW can rearrange these bodies to play better than that 1st half against WBA ?

Did he actually beat his man once as a winger? I may have missed it. But to me he didnā€™t look the quickest of players. But hay ho, it was his first game.

Every time I see their names together on the same team sheet, I instantly think of walking football.
Grimes reminds me of a cat we once had. He wondered around the place in no particular hurry, occasionally bringing in a prize of a mouse, then going to sleep in his favourite chair zzzzzz
