I recall - Leonard from Pennard - whistled birdsong constantly -- and Crazy Legs Pete and in the late 60's some guy named Clive who used to ride round Mumbles like he was on Tour de France - all the kids took the p*ss - we laughed like f*ck when he fell off his bike as on the prom - til we realised he'd dropped dead.

try a walk across Mumbles hill - park on street in Thistleboon Drive - walk straight on to nature reserve - pass the old gun emplacement and on toward the headland - great views - and much quieter than the New Hampstead village below

lectured in swansea Uni - liked his real ale - wrote Real Swansea about undiscovered parts of the city
