Having seemingly lost out on Andy Lonergan, Leeds prolonged search for Kasper Schmeichels replacement ironically may invole the club Longergan is bound for.

Everton's Scottish goalkeeper Iain Turner is the next name alongside Lonergan, Kieron Westwood, David Stockdale and Jerzy Dudek to be linked with a move to Elland Road.

Having arrived at Everton eight years ago from Stirling Albion, Turner has made just FOUR starts for the Toffeeman and spent most of his time at Goodison out-on loan to no less than EIGHT clubs - the last one ironically being Preston North End earlier this year where he kept a certain Andy Lonergan out of the side for fourteen games.

Turner has rejected a new deal at Goodison and the 27 year old is now a free agent.

Yet again, it will be signing of potential rather than proven quality - if it goes through, other clubs including Hull City are reportedly interested,
