Bates goes to war despite Warnock's plea for unity...

Ken Bates today seemed to be he'll-bent on continuing his war of words with the Leeds United Supporters Trust as today LUST claimed the club had effectively barred LUST board members from buying tickets.

Bates' went on yet another midweek rant on Yorkshire Radio about LUST, dismissing the "Campaign for Change" march before the Brighton defeat as being a "bunch of kids out for a lark" amongst other things. He has on several occasions made a point of revealing the number of times LUST chairman Gary Cooper has attended matches in recent seasons.

Today several members of LUST have claimed that they have had their ticket office accounts blocked, a move they claim CEO Shaun Harvey has defended as exercising the right to sell tickets to who the club wish.

Although the club have not made any formal statement through the official Leeds website on the bannings, it seems to fly in the face of Neil Warnock's call for unity since taking on the task of trying to elevate United to the Premiership through the playoffs.

The question also needs to be asked why Bates has behaved in such a manner whilst generally appearing to be do dismissive over LUST?

Whilst Warnock has told fans he will only stay beyond the summer if the fans want him, it seems unlikely he will get his wish of a 30,000+ crowd. However nearly every Leeds fan I have spoken too is genuinely happy with his appointment and having called off the seven minute protest and boycott plans for tomorrow, even the most anti-Bates hardcore fan seems to be willing to heed Warnock's pleas.

Maybe Neil should have a quiet word in Ken's shell-like tomorrow about deliberately antagonising situations with your own supporters? It is believed that Bates will attend the game having missed most of our matches since Christmas due to his non-UK residency status.

On Yorkshire Radio (his personal propaganda station) Bates said LUST were self-appointed, self-important people, who are an irritant to the overwhelming majority of the Leeds fans”.

Well, I can certainly think of someone who is self-appointed, self-important and an irritant to the overwhelming majority Leeds fans, but he’s not on the board of LUST.

And with the crowds dropping so much, why is he banning the few who still want to come? LOL!
