More deadwood departs
More deadwood departs

Following on from Robbie Rogers departure, another Simon Grayson signing has left the club.

Paul Connolly is the latest departure, the 29-year-old defender has moved to Preston NE on loan until in end of April.

Connolly has made 64 appearances for Leeds in 2 1/2 years, he arrived on a free from Derby County in 2010 and has played mainly at right-back. However he was transfer-listed by Neil Warnock in the summer and spent some time on loan at Preston's League One rivals Portsmouth earlier this season making just four appearances.

Connolly was one of those defenders who apparently can play full-back or central-defence, but did not show any reliability or consistency in either position and it was no surprise that he was transfer-listed and there were few takers.

However speaking to the official PNE website he claimed there were other options but he chose to join a "sleeping giant".

Connolly also spoke of being in the doledrums and revealed Neil Warnock gave him five days off over Christmas, which he apparently spent eating Turkey in his native Liverpool.

I am sure Connolly's contract is up at the end of the season, so it's likely we have seen his last ever game in a Leeds shirt (thankfully).

Just Messers Rachubka, Pugh and Nunez left? Although the Honduran is out for the season with a serious knee injury.
