![]() Tuesday, 3rd Mar 2009 08:07 Roberto Martinez insists his side has no nerves as they push for the Championship play offs Swansea City travel to the East Midlands twice in four days this week for games against Derby tonight and Nottingham Forest on Saturday. This comes on the back of a disappointing 1-1 draw with Charlton at the Liberty on Saturday but in positive mood as they remain within touching distance of the play off places. And despire suggestions to the contrary, Roberto insists that his side remain full of confidence as they look upwards towards the dream that is the Premier League. Speaking on the eve of the match, the Swans manager said “I don’t see any nerves at all “I have seen a maturity in our play that is hard to explain sometimes. “I’ve been delighted at how we can be that mature even with the pressure of getting into the playoffs. The attitude has been great and we have a group of players that are very arrogant in the right way. “They know what they are good at and they set such high standards that they want to maintain them. I have been very surprised and delighted with the way the boys have approached getting into the play-offs. “That is the realistic target for this team and we don’t want to hide from it. We love the pressure and to be in the frame for a top six finish is a huge achievement already. “It’s not a matter of having something to lose. It’s the exact opposite because we have everything to gain. “The boys are excited about it. When you look at the fact we are going into the last 12 games, aiming to get into the play-offs, it puts a smile on everyone’s face. “It’s a matter of making sure you adapt to the circumstances and ensuring you are effective over the 90 minutes “That’s a great situation for us to be in and it’s probably the challenge we needed. “Looking at our fixtures we have to deal with those circumstances more than most. And I think we can learn from our recent experiences. “I look at the Charlton game and in the first half there was only one team in it. I admit for the first 15 minutes of the second half it was only Charlton but after that we were in charge. “If we keep doing that, nine times out of 10 we will win the game. That’s what pleases me. “You can see that, because it’s such a demanding period in the league, the results will be strange to say the least in the final third of the season.” Photo: Action Images Please report offensive, libellous or inappropriate posts by using the links provided.
